Here is Jesús Owono’s reaction after his tackle on Jesús de Miguel:
- He was heading straight down the tunnel because he knew it was a red-card offence, which he was shown on the spot.
- His teammate even went over to greet him for the tackle, not realizing how serious the situation was.
- He rushed back immediately when he realized the severity of the situation.
It was a reckless tackle, and the consequences are heartbreaking. But we must remember that none of these players goes onto the pitch intending to take the life of a fellow player.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in Kenya has formally requested a Nairobi court to extradite Brian Kiprop Kiplagat, a Kenyan national wanted in the United Kingdom for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Marianne Kilonzi.
Marianne Kilonzi, 43, was a banking executive who served as the Vice President of Trade and Working Capital Sales at Citibank in London.
British authorities state that Kilonzi was beaten to death in her apartment on Argyll Road in Woolwich, South London, between January 12 and 28, 2025. A post-mortem examination concluded that she died from blunt force trauma and severe head injuries.
The couple reportedly met on WhatsApp in January 2024, and Kiplagat moved into Kilonzi’s riverside flat in September of that year. Neighbours reported frequent arguments leading up to her death.
