This is the last time the Cobblers won at home in the league on a Tuesday night.... 3rd October 2023!
One unwanted record fell at the weekend. I think they have a real chance of ending another one tomorrow.

This is the weirdest story we've ever uncovered and it ended beautifully this afternoon with Northampton winning 2-0 away to Grimsby to lead the October 17th all time goalscoring record in English football.
Unbelievably over taking Grimsby who happened to be in first place!
Still scratching our heads how we came across this. 🤣
Happy to do a daily "date special" if there is interest in this pointless daily information?
🚨 POINTLESS STAT OF THE DAY #164
17TH OCTOBER THE GOALSCORING LEAGUE TABLE THAT NOBODY ASKED FOR.
Sometimes we do research at Statty HQ and little comes from it but this one we think we've just struck gold for the bizzareness.
Today, Grimsby Town face Northampton Town.
And here's a rather lovely coincidence.
Across all the league matches in English records played on 17 October, Grimsby have scored more goals on this date than any other team but unbelievably Northampton are in second place!!
Even more strange is that Burnley and Wolves come next and they played last night. 🤣
🥇 Grimsby Town 42 goals in 21 games
🥈 Northampton Town 41 goals in 22 games
🥉 Burnley 37 goals in 20 games
4️⃣ Wolverhampton Wanderers 36 goals in 21 games
5️⃣ Huddersfield Town 34 goals in 19 games
5️⃣ Notts County 34 goals in 22 games
5️⃣ Sheffield United 34 goals in 20 games
Goalless draw incoming.
Use this information wisely. 🤓
