GivEnergy went into administration in April. Thousands of UK homes have batteries that still work fine, but the app is now partly paywalled and nobody knows how long the cloud lasts. You don't need it. Your inverter will talk to you directly. 🧵 #GivEnergy #HomeAssistant

Three weeks of building local AI on my own hardware: two NVIDIA GB10s (ASUS GX10), a Mac Studio M3 Ultra, an M1 Max and an RTX PRO 6000. Benchmarks, a 125B model on a 32 GB Mac, a fully local solar system and some great people to build with. 🧵

What's next for ModelMule: with community help, we plan to make NVIDIA GB300 access available to developers building and training open models for the community, as the systems roll out. Go check it out and support us: modelmule.com ko-fi.com/modelmule @TheModelMule

GivEnergy owners: need a hand since the administration? Since GivEnergy Ltd went into administration, a lot of us have been left wondering what happens to the app, the portal and support. Here's the reassuring bit: your inverter and battery don't need GivEnergy's cloud to keep working. A few quick things worth checking on your own system: - Is your overnight charge still running? Check the charge times and the target percentage. Settings can drift or get switched off without you noticing. - Does your battery empty earlier than it used to? Make a note of the time it reaches its reserve. If it's much earlier than before, it's worth looking into, and not always a sign the battery is failing. - Are you on a time-of-use tariff? Make sure the battery charges in the cheap window and isn't running the house on grid power at peak. We've been helping owners set up a local dashboard on a small computer at home. It talks straight to the inverter, needs no GivEnergy account, and keeps working without the internet. We don't do hardware, but we can tell you what's going on and write it up for your installer if something needs fixing. If you're stuck, unsure what your settings should be, or just want a second opinion, send me a DM. Happy to take a look and point you in the right direction, whether or not you use us. Solar that thinks. We've engineered a home solar + battery system into an AI-analysed energy platform that runs on our own hardware: no cloud AI, no subscriptions. Here's how 🧵 @Chronara_ai @OctopusEnergy @GivEnergy @home_assistant

First AI finding: the battery sits full at 4pm while peak export is off. Selling ~6.6 kWh at 29p and recharging at 14.61p overnight ≈ 84p a day. If the pattern holds, that's ~£300 a year from one setting.

AI advises, people decide: inverter changes live on a separate, warned page with one-tap 'back to normal'. Images made with SDXL on our own GX10 GPUs. @SolarEnergyUK_ @SolarPowerEU @SEIA @pvmagazine @solarpowerworld @EnergySvgTrust #solar #AI #HomeAssistant

Update: we did it for real. @MDH54H2's GivEnergy system is back under his control, fully local. His app stopped working after the administration. The inverter kept running; he just couldn't see or control it. Now it talks straight to Home Assistant on his own network.

Your inverter does not need the company that sold it. GivEnergy owner with a dark app? Reply or DM and I'll point you at the setup. GivTCP is open source and actively maintained.
