Two if by sea! "Handed the reins to a big brown New England mare, Revere swung into the saddle and took off at a canter across Charlestown Neck, hooves striking sparks, rider and steed merged into a single elegant creature, bound for glory....

ALT Shown is N.C. Wyeth's painting, "Paul Revere," (also known as "Paul Revere's Ride") was created in 1922. It depicts the iconic image of Paul Revere riding his horse during the events of the night of April 18, 1775. The painting is an oil on canvas, and it is currently part of the collection at the Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art in Chadds Ford, PA.
We will honor that important night by joining Americans across the nation and keeping two lamps lit in our window all night.
We will always remember the extraordinary courage of couriers Paul Revere and William Dawes who warned the Revolutionaries 250 years ago tonight, that there was not a moment to lose. #twolights #twolightsfortomorrow
As part of America's 250th Anniversary Celebration, the James Madison Foundation will put two lamps in our office window this Friday, April 18, to stay lit all night in honor of Paul Revere's (and William Dawes's) Midnight Ride.
Please join us, federal and state government agencies, schools, businesses and homes nationwide as well celebrate that fateful night that started the road to independence. Please post pictures of your lighted windows in the comments! #twolightsfortomorrow
