A cranky old man on the internet who is also a tech geek. New stuff is cool but it better stay off my lawn!

Hmmm… and what the American auto makers got in exchange for the AutoPact was that a Canadian automobile was never produced to compete with theirs. Even tiny England produced cars. Canada never did.

I loved the game Stealth. Nothing fancy or complicated.

Why do old people stop in doorways?

I’ve driven from Windsor Ontario to Saskatoon Saskatchewan a couple of times. Takes about 48 hours. Saskatoon to Denver takes about 10 hours.

If I’m really good and don’t post anything naughty on social media, I get an extra potato in my ration.

Yes, for a single year: Elon Musk’s ~$11 billion tax payment for 2021 is widely reported as the largest individual tax bill on record in US history.

It’s a handy way to help spot idiots, though.

That look is the moment of realization that she has been suicidally empathetic.

Before I learned to shut my mouth if I didn’t have anything important to say, I would say it was seeking reassurance that the other person wasn’t angry with me.

The quick fix that is to regularly check the “lists you’ve been added to” and block anyone who has added you to a list. That nonsense simmers down right quick.

That’s a wound that’s gonna take a really long time and it never will fully heal. Every single day I have a little moment where I miss her more than anything on the planet. Stay strong.

It’s a Mexican thing…. “Mole” in the name of a dish means there’s Mexican chocolate added. One of my favorite things.

Be the person that lights up someone’s life. Whether you use your sparkling personality or a flamethrower is entirely up to you.

Daddy long legs can’t bite people. They are harmless even if they are icky.

Clearly they’re burning that woman because they want better classes in their schools.

When cholesterol was demonised, Pfizer sold the statin, and it became the best-selling drug in the history of medicine. When fat was demonised, Roche sold a pill that stops you absorbing it, and the side effect was printed on the box in a way nobody forgets. When salt was demonised, the blood pressure tablet went on repeat prescription for a third of the over-50s. When the sun was demonised, the chemist sold vitamin D in a bottle, for the hormone your skin had been making for free. When liver was demonised, the chemist sold retinol, iron, copper and B12 in four separate bottles. When eggs were demonised, the chemist sold choline, and nobody in the queue knew what it was for. When red meat was demonised, the gym sold creatine and the chemist sold iron. When butter was demonised, the chemist sold vitamin K2 for the arteries, which is what the butter had been doing. When hunger was demonised, the pharmacist sold an injection to stop you feeling it, at £200 a month, for life. Every nutrient the animal carried was declared dangerous, removed, and sold back as a molecule by a company that could patent the molecule and could not patent the cow. The food did a dozen jobs in one bite. The pharmacy sells each job separately, with a repeat prescription and a side effect. The animal never had a sales rep. That is the only thing it was ever missing.

The police seem to be doing nothing. They prefer easier targets, such as disgruntled farmers.

Same thing happened to my wife years ago. A guy held up the Pharmacy with a knife, looking for drugs and money. My wife defied him and chased him out of the store and locked the doors. She was fired by the Pharmacy chain for not following company policy.
