BREAKING: Abdul El-Sayed's campaign is responding to @FoxNews after unearthed social media posts from El Sayed's sister in 2012 appear to show her saying her family has been involved with and supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood. I asked the campaign if they deny the posts are in fact from his sister, and what comment they have given that El-Sayed just told Meet the Press over the weekend that nobody in his family has any ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. This is what they told me.
“Abdul is a dad and a doctor. He has spent his entire career working to keep Michiganders healthy and safe. Independent fact checkers have repeatedly debunked Mike’s lies, but their campaign continues to use bad faith attacks on Abdul's faith and family. Mike wants to distract from Trump’s agenda that is terrorizing Michigan families at the pump and at the grocery store."
- El-Sayed campaign spokesperson Roxie Richner.
On background, the campaign says that claims El Sayed and his family are part of the Muslim Brotherhood have been debunked as "racist" and "untrue".

When U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner told Ukraine’s delegation on Oct. 9 that President Donald Trump was preparing to lift sanctions on Russian diesel exports, the Ukrainians struggled to believe what they were hearing, the Kyiv Independent reports.

Do they actually realize that publicly executing a jihadi will make him the martyr that he wants to be and encourage other terrorists to follow in his footsteps? Has this crossed nobody's mind at all?

Someone needs to sit down and have a conversation with this dude because he keeps getting things wildly wrong.
For example, someone who would pass on the responsibility of reading stories to their own kid would've never read stories to their kid to begin with, so at least now someone is, and someone who wants to now ha s'more time to.
The AI maximalists say that we need AI to do all the jobs so that we can be freed to do more meaningful things like make art and read to our children. But then they also want AI to make art and read to our children. So what exactly will be left for humans to do? The answer, though they won’t admit it, is that we get to be passive consumers sitting around slack jawed staring at screens until we die. That’s the only form of happiness these people can conceive of. It’s all any of us should want, as far as they’re concerned.

Big money was made by companies putting type, photos and graphics on 35-mm slides for corporate presentations. Persuasion and PowerPoint obliterated that industry. Now children are making "slide decks" in grade school.
Things got automated, and everyone leveled up. /4

Something that bothers me is that we teach the Holocaust in such a way that it’s perfect in narrative structure— a beginning, middle, and end. Rising and falling action. Book-like. We don’t teach that after the Holocaust, Jews had nowhere to go back to. Their businesses and homes repossessed. Their property looted. Families slaughtered.
Oftentimes, the only place they could remain, and temporarily at that, were displaced persons camps.
We don’t teach that after the war was officially over, European society remained intensely antisemitic and continued carrying out persecution and pogroms. We don’t teach about communist governments in Eastern European countries purging out what few Jews remained after the Holocaust.
Instead, we make it a narrative. We put a bow on it. We pretend that after Hitler died, everything was well in the world once again and everyone lived happily ever after.
Who does this serve?

People on this app will call you delusional for supporting a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine and then it turns out their solution is "have a single state where both the Israelis and Palestinians live together peacefully and sing kumbaya all day".
