Just fabulous to hear about children getting new experiences with @YHAOfficial These kids have been getting their first chance to build a den, paint a picture of a hill, even do some hostel gardening. Really simple stuff that many take for granted.
Our AGM keynote speaker @educurious2015 inspires us with a presentation on how YHA helped Ormiston Academies Trust bring their children back from lockdown.

Great to share progress over the last year at the @YHAOfficial AGM 2024. Really enjoyed hearing from @educurious2015 on @YHAOfficial helped unlock the power of the outdoors for young people by developing a feeling of belonging
Our AGM is getting under way. Following Chair Margaret Hart’s welcome address, we’ll be hearing from Helena Brothwell @educurious2015 on the power of the outdoors for young people, @JamesBlakeYHA on his report of the year, and Treasurer Graham Turnock on our financial results.

Sarah is right - it’s a tough Budget for @YHAOfficial, the hostelling sector and charities generally, at a time when we’re still dealing with the aftermath of Covid, high inflation, the cost of living, and energy crises, and uncertainty of future funding programmes
More than 1,100 charities and voluntary organisations have signed our letter to the chancellor in the last few hours alone. The scale of this issue cannot be understated, and the sector is coming together with a single voice to call for action. Join us by signing today👇

Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and girls are particularly affected by low life satisfaction. Through funded residentials and targeted programmes we're connecting young people to nature to improve wellbeing - vital in tackling this issue. bit.ly/4g1qFYz 🧵

Great to see @BBCBreakfast @nickeardleybbc visiting beautiful YHA Clun Mill yesterday to catch up on progress with @YHAOfficial network transition & franchise model, which is bringing new investment & entrepreneurialism into hostels while keeping them in the YHA network
Did you catch YHA on TV? @BBCBreakfast broadcast from YHA Clun Mill yesterday. @nickeardleybbc interviewed Colin Trigg, who’s just acquired the hostel under our new franchise model, @jnmaccoll from YHA, and a group of guests who had hired the hostel for their 60th annual reunion.

Great to attend the @DefraGovUK summer reception this week with both @YHAOfficial and @ACRE_national hats on. Enjoyed speaking to @SteveReedMP about his enthusiasm for ensuring more young people access nature, and to @DanielZeichner about issues facing rural communities
Thank you to the 200 representatives from the environment, animal welfare, water, food and rural sectors who joined us yesterday as @SteveReedMP set out our plans. Together we can nurture our countryside, restore nature, and build our rural economies.
