The next few days are the toughest days of the NFL calendar for players, coaches, executives, etc. All teams have to go down from 90 players to 53, meaning 1,184 players will be told they won't make the roster. About 500 will be brought back on practice squads, but for the rest, a lifelong dream takes a hit. My yearly reminder....

Chris Petersen offers a reminder for coaches whose lives have become consumed by the profession. “One of the biggest lies that coaches tell themselves is, ‘Coaching is what I do. It’s not who I am.’” When you dedicate nearly every waking moment to coaching, it’s incredibly difficult not to let the role become your identity.
