DID YOU KNOW? Jamaica first observed National Heroes' Day on October 20, 1969, establishing an annual occasion to honour the individuals whose sacrifices and contributions helped shape our nation's struggles for freedom, justice, equality and national development.

The 38th staging of our National Reading Competition culminated in a memorable Awards Ceremony, where five National Champions were crowned. From parish libraries to the national stage, these readers demonstrated the power of dedication, determination and a love for reading.

As Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2025 and JLS Reading Ambassador 2025/2026, Miss Brithney Clarke brought her vision for Read. Speak. Lead. to youth across Jamaica, creating spaces for them to build confidence through literacy, and develop leadership skills.
