Has this app just turned into everyone saying "hey grok, tell me what this is?" "Hey grok, whats the...." Can we just interact without asking grok questions constantly? Kinda getting a little ridiculous.

Contentment is such a wild topic. So many people hear the word contentment and they think of settling or laziness.. It's sometimes hard as a "go-getter" to also find contentment. But I find it so critical to truly being happy. Finding contentment at each stage in life you are at... even if you are in the growth stage is so key to true happiness. Are there people that say they are content but really they are just lazy? Sure.. probably. But that's not you. You can put everything into everything you do, be a go-getter and still find the time to be happy with where you are at in the moment of your journey. Be content.... Stop saying " I'll be content when I get to this stage". Unlock contentment along the way... you will be much happier.

The same people that say to me "There are no affordable houses, they are all over $1 million, there is just no way around it" Are the same people that say to me: "I HAD to buy a brand new Tahoe w/a payment over $1k/month... my 3 year old car was just unsafe", there was just no way around it. Btw.. on Zillow and other real estate sites, there is a little bar under the FILTER section of their search engine...under PRICE Slide that sucker down from the default $10,000,000 top end it is set at and set it about 50k under what your lender has approved you for. Now these are the houses you can look at. The amount of people looking at houses that they can't afford is crazy.. just don't even look at them.. then you won't even know what you are missing. There is a reason I stay out of Rolex stores, Lamborghini dealerships, and most coffee shops.. they are out of my budget.. I dont even let myself look at or be around these things. The problem with being able to shop for everything online, is we think we need everything.. so you have to put filters in place to keep yourself in check. So slide that bar to the left in the filter section and don't even look at what you are calling "every house". And for all the people that will tell me, "I did that and zero houses popped up"... That most likely means you have an income problem, a credit problem, or you simply cannot afford to own in the area you are looking in... Improving your income, paying down debt, saving more of a down payment, and possibly moving might be the correct steps to start heading in the right direction.

What is wrong with people? A person gives over $6 BILLION away to kids.... BILLIONS! And everyone makes fun of her looks... what is wrong with everyone on this app today? Be better.

Him: "My account went down by $8,000 yesterday!!?... whats going on?" Me: " Yup, and I see here that your account went up by $10,000 the day before". Him: "So?" Me: "...so, you are up $2,000 over the last two days"... Him: "I'd rather be up $10,000" We have a tendency to "cash" the check in our minds when our accounts hit new highs... the S&P 500 sits positive on the year at the time of me writing this post.. Actually it sits +13.97% on the year as of this morning... There are two types of people in this world... the ones that can see the positives in life.. and the ones that always want to see the glass half empty. The question is: which one are you?

Have you stopped long enough to think about what you really want? What you are racing towards? I think so many people today see a life someone else is "living" online, and they start trying to get that... Even if it doesn't align with their own goals... someone else's dream starts becoming yours.. Sure, you can get motivated by looking at what others are doing.. but just let it motivate you.. Don't let the details of what others are doing consume you to the point that you don't even know what race you are running. Sounds silly to even say.. but so many I see are yearning for something they don't even really want. Take the pieces of someones elses journey to motivate you. But run the race that gets you to the goal YOU want to accomplish.

Built the doors yesterday for the cabinet.. mounted them... got them fitting just right.. now time to remove, paint, put door pulls on, a magnetic catch and reinstall... stay tuned.
Finished painting the drawer fronts and installed knobs and then the fronts.. Now it's on to building the doors! Have a great weekend everyone!

Cut the drawer fronts for drawers before heading off to work this morning. I often get asked "how do you have time to build a house while running a business?" I often wake up early and work on the house before breakfast... and I work on it after work at night. Today I wanted to get these drawer fronts cut to size before I left for work so my wife could sand and prime them while I am at work. She will do this today, as well as honeschool the kids, as well as many other household chores. It is a team effort between the two of us. She often jokes that she has helped with .01% of the build.. but that couldnt be any further from the truth! She has done a ton of sanding, staining, painting for the build.. as well as providing an extra set of hands at time during the construction. She is always bringing me drinks, having a hot meal ready when I can take a break, and completely running the household (cleaning, cooking, homeschooling the kids) so that I can put a ton of my energy toward running a business and building our home. All this to say it is a team effort.. Have a great day everyone! I've put the 馃敤 down for the day, and picked up the pencil. 馃槃

Anyone can pass money to the next generation. But leaving a true legacy goes way beyond wealth. Teach your heirs... more is caught than taught... teach them by showing them. Teach them integrity, teach them manners, teach them how to be leaders.. teach them how to serve. If you truly model these traits in your own life, they will pick up on them.. show them every day. And you will leave them way more than money ever could.

Progress.
Some people would think it was nuts for a Financial adviser to come home from work & build his own drawers for his bathroom vanity from a tree that he cut down in his backyard. But that's ok.. I don't do it for them. 馃榿

And if you can't afford a million dollar house, stop looking at them on Zillow. The amount of people that want me to show them houses 350k over their pre-approved lender amount is crazy. It doesn't have to be your forever home.. upgrade in 10 yrs.. or maybe buy small and add on.
Buy a house you can afford instead of the house you want. Math isn't hard. Behaviors are.
