Hi all, so I wanted to share my performance from a couple years ago known as "Have a Good Day," where I tried to tell as many people in New York as possible to "Have A Good Day!" in hopes of spreading good vibes, while wearing a horse mask. Now a bit more backstory.. I’ve been making goofy videos my whole life. From Spring 2021, when I first discovered "crypto art," to Summer 2022, I worked really hard to make a name for myself. It didn’t quite work out the way I’d hoped, and looking back, I think a big reason for that was because my work was more about helping myself or proving a point than helping others. Everyone goes through ups and downs in life, but from 2015 to 2019, I was in a particularly bad spot. Every month, things seemed to get worse—job troubles, social struggles, poor self-esteem, and chronic physical pain all played a role. It was a tough time, and it made me lose faith in humanity a bit. In late 2018, near the end of what I call my "dark period," I had a day so bad it felt unreal—like everything that could go wrong did. At the end of it, my bus was canceled, leaving me with three choices: wait an hour for the next one, take a cab, or walk over an hour home. I chose to walk. On that walk, something extraordinary happened. As I was passing through a park, a man sitting with his friends noticed me walking by, tears in my eyes. He ran over to ask if I was okay. I told him I was and kept walking, but that moment stayed with me. It wasn’t anything dramatic—just a stranger checking in—but it meant so much. That small act of kindness gave me back some of the faith in humanity I had been losing. It reminded me that every person on the street has their own story, their own struggles, and that a little kindness can go a long way. That moment inspired my "Have a Good Day" project. For about a week and a half, I walked around New York City telling as many people as I could to "Have a Good Day!" My hope was that maybe, out of the thousands of people I spoke to, I could brighten the day of even just one person who was struggling like I had been. My goal was to eventually tokenize the project as an NFT and sell it for 0.1 ETH, donating all proceeds to a water charity. I wanted to show that art can make a difference without being about profit. Despite telling a tremendous amount of people (especially rich NFT people) about my project, it didn’t gain traction—no profit incentive, no interest. To them, I was just a weird guy who wore a gorilla costume and now a horse mask, not worth their time. Ultimately, while I don’t know if the project made a huge impact, I’m proud I tried. And from the video I have of Day 1, I know I made at least a few people smile, which made it all worth it. Please, today and every day, do something kind, even for a stranger. You never know what they’re going through, and your small gesture could mean the world to them.
