Just today in Scotland: 📈 Highest child death rate in the UK 📈11% increase in drug deaths Yet the SNP choose to spend more of the Scottish Parliament’s time debating independence. Distracted and out of touch.

For a country that has had education as a key part of its national identity for at least 500 years today's stats should be an absolute embarrassment to every patriotic Scot. So many Scottish children are being robbed of the richer future education provides. We need to do better.
This seems somewhat conclusive

The statement on rape being a spectrum from the Green MSP is downright dangerous. Lawmakers equivocating on rape and dressing it up in pseudo-academic language is insidious.
A 🧵on a clip circulating on social media 👇🏻 I am alarmed by the views expressed by a Scottish Greens MSP that is circulating on social media where they say that rape is a “spectrum”. I am absolutely clear that there is no spectrum of rape and know that there is certainly (1/4)

We are investing in new rail, roads, and nuclear reactors.
New scanners for our hospitals and free breakfast clubs for our children. We’re not going to let the Conservatives - or their friends in Reform - tear that down.

The SNP are today promising every school kid an imaginary back pack to hang on the handle bars of their imaginary bike. It will include a pocket for the fictitious laptop they never received. Yesterday Labour published a serious plan to change Scotland for the better.

Scottish Labour has the momentum going into the second week of the short campaign. The choice on 7 May is clear: Change with @ScottishLabour and @AnasSarwar or more of the same decline and division with the SNP.
The first newsworthy Scottish poll in months is bad news for Reform - and a warning shot sent across the SNP’s bows. thetimes.com/article/f033741…

"We have a chance for the first time in a generation to change the First Minister" @AnasSarwar reiterates his view that the Scottish electorate should focus on scrutinising the SNP's record at Holyrood rather than Labour's performance at Westminster ahead of the Scottish Parliament election. @CalumAM | @geoffaberdein | @akmaciver

Something quite tragic about a gay Jewish man repeatedly running interference for an Islamist dictator whose regime called for the extermination of Jews and hung gay people from cranes.
Piss poor take from Polanski in London Assembly chamber. In a debate on Iran, he supports a comparison made between killing Khamenei and making a matyr of the Pope. Another speaks with horror at this comparison.

I'm sorry but it's hard to see people lie about how legal immigration to the United Kingdom works, and say nothing about it. I am a legal immigrant to the UK. In 2023, I had to spent roughly £5,000 for a 2.5 years visa, NHS surcharge, biometric appointment and language tests. I will have to spend £4,000 this year, to extend my visa by another 2.5 years, after which, I'll need to pay again for indefinite leave-to-remain. On top of that, as a legal immigrant, I am understandably required to pay taxes, national insurance and can NOT claim benefits. This on-going myth that legal immigrants are free-loading on UK taxpayers is complete bullshit. If anything, I'm subsidising them. My legal immigrant ass is a net benefit to your country.
The British public has footed the bill for an immigration system that feels out of control and unfair. We’re stopping this. It is only fair that migrants with an income or sizeable assets will have to contribute to the cost of their stay, not the taxpayer.

Our position on Greenland is very clear – it is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and its future is a matter for the Greenlanders and the Danes. We have also made clear that Arctic Security matters for the whole of NATO and allies should all do more together to address the threat from Russia across different parts of the Arctic. Applying tariffs on allies for pursuing the collective security of NATO allies is completely wrong. We will of course be pursuing this directly with the US administration.
