Chief engineer at Honda,
84 years old.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The claim Shotaro Odate is 84 is a viral myth. He joined Honda in 2003 after Tokyo Tech. Sources state born 1978 (~48). He is a real Honda ADAS chief engineer with over 250 patents.

Fun to look back at Spellbook's original website from 2022. It was a tiny side project that we launched in 2 weeks. It was the first commercial GenAI product for lawyers... And generated a 30,000 lawyer waitlist in a couple months.
2 weeks of inspo changed our company forever

Claude is intoxicating because creativity itself is intoxicating. You can spend hours writing prompt and think you've come up with something genius, only for someone else to immediately consider it slop.
But this happens in all kinds of writing, music production etc. Every music producer knows the feeling of being up 2am finishing a song they love, then listening to it the next day and realizing, with distance, that it is utter crap.
The entire population is now getting to understand this feeling--how when you get "too close to the work" you lose judgement and taste.
AI writes the code, AI uses the software, AI calls people, AI answers the call, AI writes a book, another AI summarizes the contents, AI plans the meeting agenda, AI recaps it.
To what end?

One of the incredible things you learn at a small startup is: making anything actually work is ridiculously hard
When the company is small, you have no one to blame but yourself and the difficulty of the task at hand.
Without that learning, many people bounce from big company to big company with failed projects, constantly blaming the failure on other people (or, incorrectly attributing success to their own actions, and believing things were much easier than they actually were)

Biebs reviewing his contracts with AI to see if he is allowed to play his music library on stage via youtube
People complain about ChatGPT being a dangerous echo chamber, but Twitter was already that anyway. I’m not sure which is more/less dangerous.
With all this AI music blowing up nowadays, I think pro human songwriters can’t be writing generic songs anymore. Too much competition. The biggest advantage might be writing songs that really capture unique human experience. Its too easy to write basic ass songs.
