Stabbing Investigation – Royal Oak Township
On October 16, 2026, at approximately 6:03 p.m., Michigan State Police troopers responded to the 21400 block of Bethlawn Blvd in Royal Oak Township for a reported stabbing involving a domestic dispute.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 35-year-old male suspect arrived at the residence to visit his child when an argument occurred between him and a 35-year-old female. During the altercation, the male allegedly assaulted the female and stabbed her before fleeing the scene.
Troopers arrived and provided medical assistance until EMS transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim, who is pregnant, and her unborn child are both reported to be in stable condition.
Through investigative efforts and coordination with MSP Metro South and the Sumpter Township Police Department, the suspect was located and taken into custody.
The suspect is currently lodged at the Oakland County Jail. No available information regarding charges at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Jefferson County, Illinois — A Trooper stopped to assist a stranded motorist on the right shoulder. Upon arrival, the Trooper encountered 23-year-old Brandon Griffin of Albuquerque, NM and 31-year-old Christine Santos in the vehicle. A second Officer arrived for routine assistance a short time later. While on scene, an altercation occurred during which gµnfire was exchanged between Griffin and a responding officer. A 16-year ISP officer suffered serious, although non-life threatening, injuries during the altercation and was treated at a regional hospital. Griffin was pronounced deceased on scene by Jefferson County Coroner’s Office personnel. The other involved Trooper and female passenger were uninjured.
