This is what happens when you prioritize acoustics. Had such a fun time on this project.

Portable church only works if Sunday is a setup, not a rebuild. How do you get a fully functioning system of this scale to set up in ~1hr?
Infrastructure that consolidates everything to a single fiber cable, equipment staying rigged instead of put away, and clear labeling so anyone can put it together.
Everything travels down 1 fiber line + power to the video rack, then loops out to audio, and then to lighting. Extremely fast and simple. No room for errors.
The spend is in the cases and the fiber. What people feel is a call time that isn't 4am, and reliability that puts their minds at ease.
Some underrated takes in this. Design trumps brand and tuning every single time.

5 years ago started a new habit that has changed my life for the better. That habit is reading the entire bible in the month of January. I plan to do it again starting tomorrow.
It’s been one of the most beneficial routines I’ve ever started. It’s a completely new way of reading and understanding the Bible and what it says. Every year I get something new out of it.
The point isn’t to read into every detail and study the Greek and Hebrew of every word. The point is to read fast enough and high level enough to see the meta connections and narratives come together.
I do a combination of listening to the audio and reading. It’s about ~40 chapters a day. It takes dedication but it’s worth it. I’ve been amazed at the different ways I feel God is speaking to me each time.
If you’re a production manager or worship leader at a church and you lead people…I believe you would benefit a lot from this plan.
If you’ve been struggling in your faith lately…maybe it’s because you were hurt by the church or maybe it’s because you’re not sure about what you believe, this plan would be huge for you.
Maybe most importantly, If you’re in a season where life is absolutely insane and you feel like you’re hangin on by a thread, I recommend you try this. That’s where I was when I did this plan for the first time. I don’t regret it. What do you have to lose?
Here’s the plan. bible.com/en/reading-plans/1…
If you do it, hit me up. Would love to chat through each day or week or whatever you’d like. It’s always fascinating seeing how God is talking to others through the same reading.
I have many friends who are going through some really hard stuff lately. Relationship stuff. Health stuff. Financial stuff. The list of people we pray for every night has been exceptionally long this season.
Not long ago, I was going through my own stuff as I walked through an extremely painful divorce.
During that season, as Christmas came around, I came across this verse.
"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong."
1 Corinthians 1:27 NIV
As I've seen my own life play out after my divorce, I've seen how God can use the least "ideal" ingredients to make an incredible meal. The least "ideal" tools to make an incredible structure.
Jesus was born in a manger...in Bethlehem. That's like the equivalent of being born in the back seat of a '89 civic on the side of the road in Bakersfield, CA.
I'm reminded that God specializes in making all things new. And in this Advent season, my hope is that all of those who are in the midst of a low and discouraging season hold on to the reality of who God is, and stay encouraged and reminded that there is hope; that the broken pieces of their lives will be used to make something truly special and new... if they allow it.
