Gulf War (or is that not "political news"?)
What is the oldest political news story you can remember? For me it's Joe Biden being selected as Obama's VP.

Anytime you're playing a team with James Harden on it, you can't count out that they're about to have a world-historical collapse

i dont really think the future of the humanities is professors slogging through doubled teaching loads (what loss of R1 status usually implies) and having no time for research or writing. just close it all up at that point.

"Non-readers often assume that Austen’s books are syrupy odes to the joys of romance and marriage" Has anyone this uneducated even heard of Jane Austen?

Leonardo da Vinci created the first ever "satellite view" map in 1502 of Imola, Italy. He did this by manually measuring the angles and distance of every corner on every building in the city.

the way youre trying to rewrite the recent history of social media is creepy. you could at least admit there was a problem, and id agree that there are new kinds of problems now.

Trump certainly hasnt bathed himself in glory on this front. But as far as I know, Musk's X has been much more permissive of anti-Israel speech than pre-Musk Twitter was when it came to topics like COVID, trans, Hunter Biden, etc. If you have evidence to contrary, then show. If not, then you should reflect on why you nonetheless instinctively assumed that nothing has changed

@grok in 2018-22, on major social media such as Twitter of Facebook, were people censored (deplatformed, shaddowbanned, demonetized, frozen account, etc) for saying they thought COVID came from a lab in Wuhan? Were attempts to share the news scoop about Hunter Biden's laptop blocked by social media such as Facebook? Did social media such as Twitter and Facebook have a policy of banning "dead naming" and were people censored for this? Answer with three bullet points for all three cases:
