Ran my old startup Exitround through @GPGPTai today. "Why should I not invest in this? Argue against it like my partners will." What came back wasn't a risk checklist. It was the objections my partners would've actually raised in the room. The standard AI-term-paper both-sides answer is useless in an IC. This wasn't that.

This from @saranormous nails why vertical AI apps are where the durable value sits: the answers that matter live inside someone's private data, their workflow, their trust — places the LLMs can't reach. Building @GPGPTai for PE/VC, I am living this daily. No leaderboard can score whether a deal memo is right — only the investor can. Our job is to earn the seat next to them, every morning.

Congrats to @semil & the @haystackvc team on their Fund 8 and more. When I started @exitround eons ago, Semil wrote my first check. You never forget the first person who steps up to back you, especially when they do it as a singular voice, not needing outside validation or a waiting for a lead. That kind of courage and conviction is blatantly disappearing from VC today.  Too many forget that entrepreneurship and VC is about blazing new trails, not following $trillion dollar highways. Here’s to the Day 1 founders.
