*at church*
Worship leader: … till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
*quiet as song ends*
A small child: Yeah!
Happy Sunday.
Fireworks with family. Soundtrack played a bit of Amazing Grace on bagpipes as fireworks picked up. Thought that would be the grand finale.
Then a pause, “Today we celebrate our Independence Day,” a beat drop, and bigger, faster pyro. *That* was the finale. Happy 250. 🇺🇸
I said "game" the second he made contact and walked away feeling about 1,000 pounds lighter.
Going 3-0 in 33 innings (including a game suspended overnight) on the road against two teams ranked top-25 in the final human poll took some grit. 💪
Seen on yesterday’s neighborhood walk: two ducks hanging out in a yard across from a pond
Seen on today’s neighborhood walk: two ducks still in that yard, with a small child calling to a friend across the street, “Do you want to touch a duck?”
My “don’t let the Rebs get hot” t-shirt has gotten slightly dingy, but fear not, I found another, practically unworn one in my old bedroom at my parents’ house last weekend. 🔥
That was fun 🫡👏🏻

*passing horse-drawn carriage after Nate Bargatze show last night*
ME: I wonder how much that horse costs
GRACE: At least a thousand chickens
So many new inside jokes now. Huge night for me as someone who’s not early to much pop culture but followed Nate before SNL. 10/10 show.
🫡 You can see what the vision for this year was (and what the possibilities for next year – or heck, the next two days – are).
Love how much this group wants to keep playing.

Huge win. A win that could age like fine wine for a bubble team.
And as we continue the Great Ole Miss-Georgia Respect-Off of January 2026, hat tip to Mike White and Todd Abernethy for having Georgia looking really good this season.
Any loss at this point is a bummer, but I'm genuinely just *super* proud.
What a month-plus it's been for program momentum, stability, and culture. This isn't a "we're going 11-1 every year" post (no one is), but, man, what a job by the team and staff.
See you in the fall. 🫡
Absolutely *love* how clear he is that being grounded in faith as an athlete isn't about ensuring success, but giving God glory using the gifts He's given you.
Knowing where your identity and worth come from helps you do that.
Great advice for Christians in any walk of life.
CJ Stroud on if God is blessing the Texans because of their testimony:
“I don’t want it to ever be confused, I don’t think God is like ‘the Texans are gunna win.’, but I think regardless, win or loss he gets the glory, and that’s up to us, that’s just worship. Him giving us our talents, abilities, & these jobs, he’s more than worthy of all the worship is really why we do what we do. It’s not because we want favor from the lord. In my opinion, you don’t just get favor from the lord just because you give him glory, he deserves it. It’s not because we follow Jesus that we win every game.”
