Looking forward to my visit. Excited to catch up with friends and colleagues, and to meet new and amazing microbiologists!! See you there!
Save the Date!
The South Central Branch of the @ASMicrobiology is hosting its Annual Meeting in Hot Springs, Arkansas!
Big thanks to the UAMS organizing committee, including Dr. Clay Jackson-Litteken.
Excited to welcome our Keynote Speaker: Dr. Shaun Brinsmade!
More details soon

Congrats Alexis!
I said I will never work on phages, but having Michele Leroux next door made me change my mind. Here is Alexis's new paper showing how different phages deal with the capsular barrier to infect Acinetobacter!

Great to see this out! Thanks @MarioFeldman9 for your mentorship!
Happy to share the latest paper of my lab. Congrats to now professor Clay Jackson-Litteken and everyone involved! nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

Yes! @manon_janet preprint is out! We show using BALF transfer that an intracelular Acinetobacter clinical strain can seed an infection in a susceptible mouse, suggesting that intracellular bacteria may be reservoir for recurrent infections 1/2

Thank you @MarioFeldman9 for everything! You are an amazing mentor and I will miss y'all!
Saying good bye to @JacksonLitteken who is going to fly solo and start his lab in Little Rock. We are going to miss you!!!
Happy to share this paper from some of my graduate work! It was a great team effort with several current and former members of the @@JonBb7 lab!
Congratulations to the Blevins lab for their new publication at @PLOSNTDs! @JonBb7 @JacksonLitteken @votheroski @UAMS_COM

Amazing work by @Marian_3101!
Finally out! We show that in Bacteroides OMVs are a real thing! They use their OMVs to degrade polysaccharides from our diet, packing glycosylhydrolases that contain an N-terminal recruting signal. Check the cool images and videos! pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.23…

Who needs sofisticated secretion systems to replicate intracellularly, if you can secreted crazy amounts of ammonia to change the pH of the vacuole and have a party within? Here is our new paper describing how Acinetobacter replicates inside macrophages

Finally, this collaboration with the @HultgrenLab is published! We identified intracellular A. baumannii in the bladder epithelial cells of mice with resolved infections, which we propose act as a host reservoirs for resurgent secondary infections
