Strong winds are expected across our service area this weekend! ⚠️
According to the @NWSAtlanta, wind gusts of 30–50+ mph could begin as early as overnight Friday, with the strongest winds expected in rain bands. Some areas of north Georgia could experience even higher gusts.
Strong winds can bring down trees and power lines, so please keep these safety reminders in mind:
✅ Stay away from downed power lines and always assume they are energized.
✅ Never attempt to move a fallen power line or anything touching it.
✅ Stay clear of fallen trees and debris that may be hiding downed power lines.
✅ Keep your phones and electronic devices charged in case of outages.
If you experience a power outage, report it at jacksonemc.com/outage or call 1-800-245-4044.
We'll continue monitoring conditions throughout the weekend. Stay safe and weather aware!
Be weather aware❗
Our friends at the @NWS have been monitoring Hurricane Isaias and the impact it may have on our service area. They are expecting a strong wind threat beginning early Friday morning and could last through Sunday morning.
Now is a great time to make sure you and your family are prepared for possible power outages:
✅ Review your household emergency plan.
✅ Make sure your emergency kit is stocked and ready.
✅ Charge your phones and other electronic devices.
✅ Follow the National Weather Service for the latest updates.
If you experience a power outage, report it at jacksonemc.com/outage or call 1-800-245-4044.

Mutual aid is one of the clearest examples of the cooperative difference. 🤝
When extra help is needed, electric cooperatives can send crews and equipment to assist one another with power restoration. By sharing resources and working together, cooperatives can help get the lights back on safely and efficiently for the members and communities they serve.
That’s cooperation in action – co-ops helping co-ops and neighbors helping neighbors.

October is National Co-op Month! 💙
All month long we’re highlighting what makes electric cooperatives different.
Jackson EMC is a cooperative, which means we’re owned by the members we serve. That difference shapes everything that we do, from the service we provide to the way we invest in our communities.
Follow along this month as we share what a cooperative looks like in action.
