This is day 1 of posting every day until I’ve shipped my first app.
- Today was a very productive day, transformed my original problem I wanted to solve / pain point into a viable MVP.
- Had a video call with a more experienced person than myself who gave me a lot of advice in how I can utilise ai for this project.
- Played around with codex a lot to see what it is capable of and created a workflow for my idea.
Now I have an MVP locked in the next step is coding it. Tomorrow I will be having another video call to give me advice on how I should move forward then I will get to building the first version.
ive decided to abandon my original project entirely.
I realised I had lost conviction in the idea and if I have no conviction in the idea, why would a customer.
im gonna spend the next couple days scouring @trust_mrr to find a startup I think I could clone and add value to then ship.
ive come to the conclusion the app ive been working on is a pretty shit.
I could just ship it for the sake of it but I don't want to do that. I also could just abandon it but I like the problem im solving.
im gonna start from the beginning basically with my newfound knowledge and hopefully build something substantially better than what I have now
they need to sort out the pro model of chatgpt. I send a simple request and ask it to give me clarifying questions and suddenly im bombarded with 50 questions.
then its response will be over 10 pages long, nobody is reading all that. I prefer to use the cheaper models for basically everything because of this
as of right now im currently building an app so I thought it could be a good idea to leverage it to build a social media platform.
although later in life I think I want to go into academia or research, is it a good idea to build a twitter around my entrepreneurial endeavours when I might want to pivot later?
I’ve taken around 20 mins to clear all the engagementbait slop posts I’ve made.
From now on I’m gonna make sure I only post stuff that actually provides value otherwise what is the point.
My goals for the rest of this year are to ship my app, get my first 100 users and hit 1k followers let’s see if I can make this come true.
The biggest piece of advice I could offer to anyone building an app is don’t use ai to validate your ideas.
It will tell you exactly what you want to hear.
This is genius
All it takes is putting yourself out there or a creative idea and you have yourself a new maxed out Mac
I'm selling ad space on my MacBook
→ 10 sticker spots on the lid
→ live auction
→ 14 days
except I don't own it yet, the auction buys it
→ your logo travels with me and gets seen both online and IRL

I got back from a residential to Cambridge last week.
It’s motivated me a lot seeing how intelligent everyone was, now the difficultly is balancing building my app while trying to get in.
Hopefully this time next year I have an offer and a successful app.
I have to disagree, I think leveraging your app to build a personal brand is invaluable.
Ive seen many people who's earnings from x outperform their apps
if you give the agent proper guard rails what is the actual chance of something like this happening
I accept agentic ai is far from perfect but I wouldn't imagine this is a common occurrence

The BIGGEST issue I hear everyone in the build in public niche complain about it marketing.
This is how i have generated 500K impressions on a fresh TikTok account using only slideshows.
Firstly, if you are starting with a fresh account, you want to warm the account up. Let the algorithm know you’re not a bot and signal it to push your content to the right audience. Say if your product is in the educational market, over the first 2 days or so you want to interact with other people in this field and follow them etc, make it look organic.
If you already have an account id still recommend doing this, make sure the algorithm is aware of the niche of your account.
The second step is to MAKE YOUR ACCOUNT LOOK GOOD. This is so important, if someone clicks on your account from your post you want them to want to follow you or to click your link. You do this by having a professional looking account. Make sure your username looks clean, your pfp, your bio tells them about the product and your account.
The third step, MAKE QUALITY CONTENT. I recommend making ugc content and putting in sponsors does your product. My page isn’t necessarily for my product but it’s in the niche and promotes the product. You can make content with your face and videos etc but let’s assume you’re making faceless slideshows like me as I find that easiest.
If your taking pictures from other sources and they’re low quality use ai enhancers to improve the quality of your photos. Also always include a hook on your first slide that is going to make people swipe. The vast majority of people doomscrolling are hardly even conscious if their brain sees a hook that could reward them with some dopamine 9 times out of 10 they’re going to just automatically swipe.
MAKE SIRE YOU INCLUDE A DESCRIPTION and hashtags, TikTok explicitly says they push videos with descriptions further, just make sure it is obviously relevant to the video.
I’d also recommend posting atleast once a day, it is good on basically every platform to keep that momentum. And once you post your video in the first hour make sure to reply to all the comments.
If you follow all these steps you are basically guaranteed for your videos to do well.
If you were to time travel 200 years into the past, could you actually affect the development of the world?
I don't think the average person knows enough about anything to actual make a meaningful contribution without having their phone or ai to ask.

What do you guys think about this?
I personally think it is a great improvement.
It means that quality content will move the needle more than engagementbait.
So it has been a whole month since I started this account.
Currently on 300 followers.
I’ve learned a lot, I’ve also not been entirely consistent up until the past few days. I’m hoping to hit atleast 1k by next month
I started this TikTok account 7 days ago👀
Already over 300k views.
Once I’ve shipped my app if I could even convert 1% of these views to users that would be 3k new users.
If you have any tips how to grow let me know?
