I'm Jack. I run a micro bakery in Hampshire and I'm building two apps for food businesses, MiseOS and Traylora, on my own.
AI is at the heart of how we operate, which is the only way one person can pull this off.
I'll be sharing what works, what breaks and what the bread taught me about building software. Come along.
I often wonder how many things had to happen at the exact time they did in people’s lives to end up where they are now.
Change one step, shower, meal time bath, whatever and they could be a completely different person.
Thought of the day.
I built two little side projects for fun - passion projects outside the apps I'm building.
First is my European Football AwayDays Finder. It gives you all the info on the biggest European awaydays, and we're adding more every week. We also have things you can do if you book: awaydayseurope.com
Second is a foodie's guide to fine dining and foodie experiences. I wanted to make finer dining accessible with transparent pricing and general info on each restaurant. We're adding more every week. Similar to ADE, we have things you can do while visiting these restaurants: starsandstalls.com/

Yesterday 130 founders dropped their product in one line.
I replied with the first question their customer would ask.
The best responses all did the same thing: they removed a step. None added a feature.
Top 3 were from: @JackHFIL @nonstabIe @georgebnov
👇Drop yours. Rnd 2!
I am 35. Solo founder in SF. 3 companies, $4M ARR.
Drop what you are building, in one line.
I'll answer every single one with the first question your customers would ask.
Best question I got this week, from another founder: "When exactly during my day am I supposed to type anything into it?"
Fair. Nobody in a kitchen has a spare five minutes.
So that's the bar for MiseOS now. If logging something takes longer than scribbling it on a clipboard, I've built it wrong.
Food business owners, what's the one bit of paperwork you'd bin tomorrow?

We are putting a lot of effort into a specialized Hagglebot for business use, as we think it could improve enterprise cost-efficiency by 5% or more.
Applied to the global GDP, this could be up to $6 trillion/year in savings, delivering an immediate and measurable advantage to any company using Grok @Bot.
Hot take for World Food Day: most food waste in small bakeries and cafes isn't bad cooking. It's guessing.
Guessing how many you'll sell. Guessing what's in the fridge. Guessing what's about to go out of date.
That's exactly what I'm building MiseOS to fix. Less guessing, less in the bin!
Running a bakery taught me more about building software than any course.
- Customers don't care how it's made. They care if it's good every time.
- If a process only works when you're there, you don't have a business yet.
- Waste is the silent killer, whether it's flour or features.
AI is at the heart of how we run things now, but the lessons came from the oven.
