The world, especially through the internet, it's pretty depressing this week. Fortunately, I was able to attend an old school barn dance. It felt like we'd been transported through time 50 years. Great live music, tons of friendly people, and kids dancing together.

In 10 years I'll be saying "nice try, yet again, skynet."

I'm amazed at how many people justify our failings by pretending the standard doesn't exist instead of recognizing that we come up short to standards that we should meet. I admit that I fall short. I hope I don't justify those failings by saying the standard's irrelevant.

I was not a huge fan of Charlie Kirk. I felt like he meant well, but wasn't as wise or skilled as other thought leaders. However, I recognized he outworked nearly everyone and was a force for good. His assassination made me realize that people want to k*ll us for our values.

He still doesn't get it and essentially diagnosed himself.

At this point, I'm almost rooting for the Muslims who actually have standards (if not brutally harsh) to win over the mormies and progmos who have zero standards and attack anyone who does.

There's not much of a difference between choosing to come home early from a mission for personal plans or preferences and choosing to sin to the degree that you get sent home early from the mission. Either way, you chose to cut it short. (Doesn't apply to those who can't choose)
