At the Hopewell Mound Group, one obsidian point measured more than 17 inches long. Far beyond an ordinary hunting point.

people are giving him shit but he's making a good point:
drawing entertaining comics is the EASY part of reviving american comics. the hard part is that comics aren't sold anywhere. manga's in every convenience store in japan, america's distribution infrastructure is totally gone
sure, you can go to specific hobby shops if your town even has one, you can pick up a handful of big names there, but as long as comics are contained to small niche stores it'll remain a small niche industry. the current circumstances make it impossible for comics to go through a boom.
there's also no real pipeline from "guy who draws comics for fun" to "person who does it professionally" the way there is in japan. the webcomic boom in the 2000s is proof of that: every talented comic artist was left to languish in digital obscurity or reinvent their own printing and distribution system from the ground up. they received 0 institutional support, 0 offers from major companies, nothing. there was never any chance for them to make their way into convenience stores and supermarkets to pick up a broader audience. everything, from the ground up, from marketing to printing to audience growth, had to be handled by them personally.
meanwhile in japan, a guy can draw a webcomic for fun called one punch man and get it turned into an anime smash hit
american talent is exceptional; nobody controlling the purse strings wants to invest in it. that is the real problem holding everyone back. you could draw the greatest comic in history and you'd still be stuck trying to twitter trendhop to fundraise a kickstarter to get a single volume published.
