I’m not sure I’ve seen anything which so succinctly encapsulates the utter arrogance and contempt that Labour politicians hold for Palestinians and human rights more broadly. Great questioning from @zeteouk and thanks to @MikeTappTweets for telling on himself.
“Have you spoken to any Palestinian organizations before you wrote your letter?” @ShehabKhan presses Labour MP Mike Tapp who reported the Green Party over its Zionism motion about whether he’s ever spoken to any Palestinians. Tapp: “I don’t know any Palestinian people.”

I'm the only Jewish leader of a political party. I'm a victim of Antisemitism every day and I've made it clear Jewish people are welcome in my party. You're a Prime Minister who arms a genocide and locks pensioners up for opposing it.
Andy Burnham rules out any partnership between Labour and the Green Party due to their controversial motion declaring "Zionism is racism". 🔗 trib.al/c05KDDg

Beyond awkward. Look how the Labour candidate in Holborn and St. Pancras responded when Palestine was mentioned. 😱😱😱😱

This really isn't good enough from a Parliamentary candidate. Sagal Abdi-Wali is given a pretty soft-soap interview in The Times, but even they are shocked at how she refuses to articulate a single clear policy position on climate, immigration or welfare reform. It's deflection and bet-hedging - perhaps because she knows her Party's stated policies on all of these issues are deeply unpopular locally. Who in Camden wants more welfare cuts, cutting migrant rights and new oil & gas drilling? Perhaps she doesn't want to call them out because she will vote however the Party leadership tells her to, and she doesn't want to be making promises she knows she won't keep? I wonder if there was another MP from Holborn & St Pancras who had difficulty sticking to a pledge? The section on the environment and North Sea Oil is worth quoting in full: "Does that mean she wouldn’t support the approval of new licensing for the Jackdaw gas field off the coast of Aberdeen, a decision which was postponed specifically because of the by-election? Her answer is neither a yes nor no: “I know that the climate emergency is a huge issue for people here, I also know that the cost of the crisis is a big factor that comes up on the doorstep,” she said. When pushed, she added: “Honestly, it’s more for me. I know the constituents here aren’t thinking about that.”" What? I can absolutely confirm that after devastating heat-waves and a drought that has led to a hosepipe ban in Camden, most people locally and nationally are very much thinking about climate change. Most people I speak to across the constituency think it is madness to be contemplating releasing more fossil fuels after years of record-breaking temperatures. After 11 years of Starmerism in Holborn - the human rights lawyer who trashed international law, the brother of a disabled man who cut disability benefits, the man of "service" who gorged on corporate freebies - vibes aren't good enough. Voters in Holborn deserve to know how Sagal will vote on issues that are imminently coming before Parliament - and deserve to be able to hold her to account if she breaks her promises. thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

"The hypocrisy here is truly absurd." Reform MP Danny Kruger took an all-expenses paid trip to Italy in July, courtesy of a Dutch organisation linked to the former far-right government of Viktor Orbán. But not long before, Kruger was harping on about "glaring foreign influence" in the Gorton and Denton byelection. @SimonChilds13 reports: novara.media/474OHhX

Appalling behaviour from Camden Labour tonight. Endless, meandering interventions to stop the Labour-controlled Council debating a motion on divestment related to Gaza. Local residents furious at Sagal Abdi-Wali for again slipping out of saying anything on Gaza.
After three hours, they ran out of time for the motion and the meeting ended with Gaza protesters shouting down at council leader Sagal Abdi-Wali, the Labour candidate in Holborn and St Pancras. Meetings at the Town Hall have been repeatedly disrupted by demonstrations relating to council pension deposits in arms companies.

Absolutely phenomenal journalism 👏
Our yearlong investigation reveals Nigel Farage courting illicit funding as part of a plot to bring foreign money into British politics, orchestrated by his top aides and caught on hidden camera.

🇬🇧 Pro-Palestinian activists urge UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham to take a tougher stance on Israel, saying appointing former Labour Friends of Israel chair James Purnell as chief of staff is 'a horrific start' 🗣️ Critics call for London to stop supplying arms to Israel and impose 'boycott, divestment and sanctions' over Tel Aviv's 'genocidal activity' ⚠️ Activists say the British government has been 'far too soft' on Israel, despite Burnham's recent pledge to increase pressure on the Israeli government over Gaza and illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank v.aa.com.tr/4018807

Reminder: It’s been 16 days since Burnham appointed James Purnell, the former Labour Friends of Israel Chair, as his new Chief of Staff. This is generational gaslighting.
Labour’s initial response to the treatment of Gaza caused huge hurt. We got it wrong and I am sorry for that.

Fair play, incredibly brave for the Mandelson Party to talk about a “culture of patronage.” Aspire and Labour cronyism are two sides of the same coin. Anyway, Vote Green in Bow East 🌱
Just heard about the process by which a council officer was promoted to a senior role. I can't share it, but can say that nothing better illustrates the "culture of patronage" here under Aspire's Lutfur Rahman. If @CllrSirajIslam is elected Mayor, staff will be appointed on merit

ICJP's Head of Public Affairs @JWTPurcell was quoted in @NovaraMedia, reacting to the High Court ruling on Palestine Action: He called it a 'common sense ruling that's on the side of free speech and civil liberties'. He went to to call the government's move to appeal 'a farce'.
Are the police about to be hit with waves of lawsuits? The proscription of Palestine Action has been ruled unlawful by the high court. And while the implications of the verdict are not yet clear, Novara Media understands that protesters who resisted the group’s ban are already being encouraged to explore the possibility of legal redress. Ironic beyond belief, the word ‘parliament’ literally means ‘to speak’. And yet, there's a seemingly systematic silencing of pro-Palestinian campaigners, that goes against the very principles that parliament is based on. Whether by policy or practice, the outcome is the same.
ICJP wrote to the Parliamentary Security Director, following accounts of pro-Palestinian campaigners having badges confiscated. Only 2 days after they responded to us, admitting a 'conflation' by security guards, it happened again, with documents seized. icjpalestine.com/2025/12/08/…

These things may seem 'symbolic', but this sort of cultural normalisation of Israel's genocide is genuinely VITAL to manufacture consent for our government's own complicity in the genocide. Eurovision has failed, but UEFA must ban Israel from international football tournaments.

After submitting evidence of war criminals walking free in the UK, we've seen no action from @metpoliceuk. It's illegal for British individuals to fight for foreign armies, unless against a country the UK is at war with. We're bringing private prosecutions to see justice done.
