Laparoscopic versus open right hepatectomy for colorectal liver metastases after portal vein embolization: international multicentre study

In this study, the safety and feasibility of laparoscopic right and extended right hepatectomy for colorectal liver metastases after portal vein embolization were evaluated
After propensity score matching, the only observed benefit in the laparoscopic group was a 1-day shorter hospital stay, with longer operating and Pringle times
The technical complexity of laparoscopy in this particular setting thus seems to limit its advantages over an open approach

Ecstatic and proud to share the NICHE-2 results, now published in @NEJM. Out of 111 pts, 95% had an MPR , and 68% a pCR after only 4 weeks of #neoadjuvant #immunotherapy. Grateful to the pts and colleagues who made this possible. @HaanenJohn
