This is why Bukele is the most dangerous Right-winger on the planet. He exists as living proof that our decline is optional

One SAS soldier "forfeited his lifelong savings to pay for legal support after the Ministry of Defence capped its support to legal aid and a handout of no more than £500".
This makes me feel sick.

The Canary and Stats For Lefties both retired on the same day, days after a criminal investigation into Your Party, polling at 0%.
RIP Corbynism. You died in 2019 but some of you kept fighting like the last Japanese soldier in the forest for 7 more years.

A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

I recall ten years ago all this happened, and Westminster commentators observing that the Spanish central government’s actions were foolish, that they should have learned from history, and that Catalan independence was now inevitable due to the backlash.
But actually, just crushing the separatist effort worked.
In comparison our own Catalonian issue followed the Westminster commentariat’s preferred approach – and it’s been an unhealed sore for twenty-five years, and a suppurating one for twelve.

master class in being wrong
It is a strange world.
Because 5.7 million people live in three small Baltic countries (whose total size is less than a Chinese Tier II city). and whose half of the population lives in Europe, and another third are Russians who cannot get citizenship, and because they have traumas and bad memories of the Soviet rule, the entire world of 8 billion people should go into a nuclear apocalypse and die.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Baltic countries lie entirely in Europe. Non-citizens comprise ~9% of Latvia's population, ~4-5% of Estonia's and near zero in Lithuania—not one third—while ethnic Russians total ~14% overall (most with citizenship).

In Russian *Ukraine* literally means “the outskirts”, “the outer edge of our country” It’s crazy how they convinced you it’s a completely different country with a different people. It’s literally in the name and always has been
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ukraine's name derives from Old East Slavic for "borderland" or frontier region, first recorded in 1187 in Kievan Rus' chronicles centuries before Muscovy's rise. It does not mean the outskirts of Russia.

Now, Parliament has spent over a decade just planning its own repairs.
