The U.S. Army Reserve is examining whether it can provide the military's Southern Command with police forces, medical personnel and other support units within the next four months, according to an internal Army message reviewed by CBS News.
Though the message makes no reference to Cuba, the request is for continued military planning aimed at Cuba, according to multiple U.S. officials who spoke to CBS News under condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Eight sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln attempted suicide during its record-breaking deployment, according to a new letter released by the Navy. A retired Navy JAG called it a "disturbingly high number indicating a serious stress level." The letter comes after last month's reports of horrific conditions aboard the ship. This is the cost of endless war led by a commander-in-chief who said their deployment wasn't "nearly long enough."
