It's crazy people actually think "you now have student loan debt" or "you paid off some else's loan."
I do not have a student loan suddenly and my bank account is the same as yesterday.
We can play the "you paid for that" game with everything.
It's so fun how we invented money - just made it all up - and now we get to argue about it every day for the rest of our lives.
Reading Twitter and it's becoming more apparent that a LOT of Trump supporters either don't know or forgot that those tax cuts they love so much all expire in 2025.
I'm sure #Republicans will start to lump "bailouts" in with their anti-student loan forgiveness language. But when they say "bailout," they mean money going to everyday people, not corporations or the wealthiest. Those are still fine to them.
So boomers and their children, our parents, are telling us that cancelling student debt is "unfair."
Well, to echo what they taught us: "life's not fair."
I don't see any withdrawals from my bank accounts today, which is weird because I was told yesterday that I was paying off someone else's student loans.
I hope tomorrow the media will be full of stories from people who had their student debt wiped and the positive impact that had and NOT stories of upper class whites who paid back their loans already and now they’re mad.
It's fucking hilarious how "working class" is suddenly synonymous with "not having gone to college" when talking about student loans.
That's right, Joe. Stunt on these hoes
As they oppose cancelling student loan debt, can you think of a single thing #Republicans would support spending the same amount of money on? Like seriously. Other than corporations or the military, what would they support that money going to?
Take note of how many #Republicans use "working class/blue collar" language today, about student loans.
They'll never be mentioned again.
There are a lot of people posting takes today that will make for great gotchas next time the government bails out a corporation.
Things #republicans want to use your tax dollars for: corporate bailouts; war; themselves.
Things they don't want your tax dollars used for: anything you need help with
Using the same logic as people complaining today, I can't even count all the things I've "paid for" that I didn't use or benefit from.
Yet it's only student debt anyone has an issue with.
#CancelStudentDebt
Like if every dollar the government spends is "mine," then I have bailed out banks, the airline industry, the auto industry, the top 1% of earners, politicians, I've paid for wars, I've put soldiers through school, hell, I've put millions through school.
These are the people whining about cancelling a little fraction of student loan debt.
Remember that.
CEO of $3 billion real estate corporation recently told investors a recession could be "good" if "unemployment...puts employers back in the driver seat," per earnings call I found:

Funny to watch people who won't benefit from student loan cancellation complaining about those who will benefit.
In my lifetime, I think the only thing the government ever gave me was the one time #COVID relief checks.
And I'm not worried about someone else getting help.
