Pleased to share my latest article, published today, 19 October 2026, in Al Gomhuria, one of Egypt’s leading newspapers, titled: “From Innovation to Industry: What Can Egypt Learn from India’s Business Incubators?”
Drawing on my recent visit to an innovation and incubation centre in Chennai, India, I explore how universities, business incubators, industry, and financing institutions can work together to transform innovative ideas into viable industrial enterprises.
The article highlights practical lessons for Egypt, opportunities to build on existing national capabilities, and the potential for stronger Egypt–India cooperation in innovation, entrepreneurship, and industrial development.

President Donald Trump has waived the looming 100 percent tariffs on India and others under the SRIA (Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act) owing to their purchase of Russian oil. He has justified this waiver on the grounds of “the national interests of the United States”. Last summer, I wrote an essay for the 50th anniversary edition of the Fletcher Forum of World Affairs, arguing that India is among a select few beneficiaries of the present era of great power competition, and that India’s ‘would-be great power’ status is being boosted by sharper geopolitical divisions.
Even though Trump has fluctuated wildly on this premise in his second term and has softened US policy toward China, his latest SRIA waiver suggests that American “national interests” are still aligned with India’s rise.

The world of international politics is complicated enough without having to answer questions about it under pressure.

Despite suffering heavy losses and facing intense pressure from the USA under President Donald Trump, Ukraine has not caved in to Russia. This is because Ukraine and the Europeans want credible security guarantees for the future, which Russia is unwilling to give. 1/4 Pooja Arora’s @LaulPatricia chapter in The Palgrave Handbook of Global Approaches to Peace (2026) offers an important contribution to AI-security scholarship, connecting military innovation, strategic instability, and international governance.
it examines UN negotiations on autonomous weapons and evaluates three policy pathways: prohibition, continued military development, and international information-sharing.
A timely contribution—and a promising foundation for further theorising Machine Accelerated Conflict.

It was an honour for us at the Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA) of OP Jindal Global University (JGU) to host 35 mid-career Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers being trained at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) on our campus in Sonipat for a day-long engagement. The officers learnt about innovations in higher education in India, efforts to improve the quality of International Relations studies in India, the need for deeper synergies between diplomats and academicians, and the way forward for achieving our shared national goal of Viksit Bharat and leading power in the world by 2047. We remain committed to supporting capacity-building initiatives of our Ministry of External Affairs!

Delighted to announce that I have signed a book contract with Brill for my forthcoming sole-authored monograph!
"India’s Foreign Policy in Data: Trade, Technology, Investment and Influence in a Multipolar World" will be published as part of Brill’s International Comparative Social Studies (ICSS) series.
The book examines India’s evolving position in the international political economy through four interconnected dimensions: trade, technology, foreign direct investment, and diplomatic influence.
It seeks to move beyond conventional narratives of India's rise by adopting an empirical, data-driven approach to understanding how economic relationships, technological partnerships, investment flows, and diplomatic engagement shape India's external relations.
