BREAKING: According to my sources within the Iranian Air Force, Russia has offered Iran’s Islamic regime protection of Tehran under Russia–Iran security agreements, including the deployment of a squadron of Sukhoi Su-35 multirole fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces and one S-400 long-range air defence system.
The proposal was discussed yesterday during meetings in Tehran involving a Russian government delegation led by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The offer follows the destruction of assets previously tasked with defending the capital, including the MiG-29B interceptors of the 11th Tactical Fighter Squadron of the Iranian Air Force at Mehrabad International Airport and two S-300PMU-2 air defence batteries of the Iranian Air Defense Force stationed south and west of Tehran, during Israeli and U.S. attacks in the 2025 and 2026 wars.
According to the same sources, discussions also covered the deployment of Russian warships and submarines to Iran’s 1st Naval Base at Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, following extensive losses that have severely weakened the Iranian Navy’s ability to defend the country’s waters.

Ukraine’s 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade says it evacuated a wounded soldier from a front line position using a heavy hexacopter drone in a first of its kind operation.
According to the brigade, a soldier from the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade was injured at a position that could not be reached by conventional evacuation means due to heavy enemy drone activity and mines. Specialists from the 92nd Brigade’s unmanned ground systems company used a heavy hexacopter made by Ukrainian company Gurzuf Defence to rescue the injured soldier.
The brigade says the soldier survived and is now receiving treatment. It credited the 92nd, 30th and 14th Separate Mechanized Brigades, the 10th Army Corps and Gurzuf Defence.

According to @BarakRavid of Axios, during an unannounced visit, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth visited Israel today and met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. While details on what was discussed during the meeting have yet to come out, the meeting comes just a week prior to Israeli elections, a potential renewal of joint U.S.-Israeli large scale strikes on Iran, and U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s endorsement of Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The UK will provide FGR4 Typhoons, A400s, and additional advisors to Saudi Arabia to support defensive efforts against the Houthis, according to a notice to the UK’s parliament by UK Defense Secretary Wes Streeting. The UK is already providing air defense and air-refueling support to the Saudis and the additional resources and personnel provided by the UK will hopefully potentiate the efforts of existing joint integrated air defense frameworks already in place.

BIG | 🇺🇸🇮🇷🇮🇱‼️‼️ The United States is reportedly preparing a major expansion of its military presence near Iran, with a third aircraft carrier strike group and thousands of additional personnel expected to deploy to the Middle East.
According to reports attributed to Fox News, Washington is sending the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the region, potentially adding approximately 10,000 sailors and Marines by late November. The Theodore Roosevelt would reportedly join the USS George H.W. Bush and USS George Washington carrier strike groups near Iran, bringing the total to three. The buildup comes amid claims that President Donald Trump is considering expanded military strikes against Iran following the November midterm elections. The precise deployment arrangements and reported plans for further strikes remain unconfirmed.
The concentration of three American carrier strike groups would represent a substantial increase in US naval aviation and strike capabilities around Iran. Combined with additional Marine forces, the deployment could strengthen Washington’s ability to conduct sustained military operations, defend regional partners, and respond to Iranian retaliation. However, a larger military presence does not by itself establish that a decision to launch new strikes has been made.

BREAKING | 🇷🇺🇺🇦🇫🇮‼️‼️ A Russian military satellite, Kosmos-2612, reportedly approached within just 26 meters of the Finnish-American ICEYE-X36 satellite, which provides intelligence data to Ukraine, raising concerns over a potential attempt to disrupt Kyiv’s space-based reconnaissance capabilities.
Space technology analyst Giorgi Trishkin suggested that the satellites’ near-zero relative velocity could indicate a deliberate Russian maneuver designed to force ICEYE-X36 to adjust its orbit. Such evasive maneuvers could consume valuable onboard fuel, shorten the satellite’s operational lifespan, and potentially interrupt the delivery of critical intelligence to Ukrainian forces. RAND researcher Michael Bohnert described the Russian satellite’s close approach as a demonstration of force. However, Moscow’s intentions have not been independently established.
The incident highlights an increasingly important dimension of Russia’s confrontation with Ukraine and its Western partners. Satellite-based intelligence plays a critical role in monitoring Russian military movements, identifying targets, and supporting battlefield operations. Deliberate close approaches could threaten these capabilities without directly attacking a satellite, creating additional operational costs and raising the risk of dangerous incidents in orbit.

BIG | 🇮🇱🇸🇾‼️‼️ Israeli forces are reportedly establishing a military installation on Jabal al-Arab in Syria’s southern Suwayda province, potentially including advanced radar systems and surveillance equipment.
A local source told Syria 360 that dozens of Israeli military helicopters had transported substantial quantities of weapons, equipment, and advanced technology to the mountainous area over the past 72 hours. According to the report, the operation is intended to support the construction of a military base near the summit. Local Druze authorities have also reportedly prohibited civilians from approaching the facilities or taking photographs. The reported deployment and construction activities have not been independently verified.
A military installation on Jabal al-Arab could provide Israel with a strategically valuable position for monitoring southern Syria and detecting potential aerial threats. The mountainous terrain would offer advantages for radar coverage, surveillance, and early warning capabilities. A permanent Israeli military presence in the area, however, would also raise serious questions about Syrian sovereignty and could further complicate the already fragile security situation in southern Syria.

BIG | 🇷🇺🇵🇱🇱🇹‼️‼️ Russia is constructing a massive long-range radar complex in Kaliningrad, potentially capable of detecting aerial activity across thousands of kilometers of European NATO territory, as Moscow continues expanding its military infrastructure along the alliance’s eastern flank.
Satellite imagery published on October 19 shows the facility under construction near Gvardeysk, approximately 32 kilometers from Poland and 64 kilometers from Lithuania. Images obtained by Finnish satellite company ICEYE reveal three antenna arrays, each roughly 500 meters long. The installation is believed to be an over-the-horizon radar system, potentially capable of detecting targets at distances between 900 and 3,000 kilometers, depending on its final specifications. Such coverage could extend toward Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. ICEYE has also identified more than 20 electronic intelligence and warfare facilities in Kaliningrad, alongside a large circular antenna complex under construction near Chernyakhovsk, protected fighter aircraft shelters at Chkalovsk Air Base, and S-400 air defense systems in the Baltiysk area. Additional Russian military construction is underway in Karelia and the Leningrad Military District near Finland, while a major ammunition storage facility is being developed near Slutsk in Belarus. The radar’s operational date and final capabilities remain unknown.
The expansion reflects Russia’s continued investment in surveillance, electronic warfare, and air defense capabilities close to NATO territory. A functioning over-the-horizon radar could significantly improve Moscow’s ability to monitor long-range aerial movements and provide earlier warning of military activity across Europe. Combined with reinforced air bases, missile defenses, and logistical infrastructure, these developments could strengthen Russia’s regional military posture and complicate NATO operational planning, particularly around the Baltic states and Poland.

🇨🇳 China’s FT-12A Could Be A Big Deal
So, China has this FT-12A extended range precision bomb that can hit targets around 500 km away. It uses folding wings and a turbojet engine, with satellite and laser guidance options.
And honestly, the 500 km range isn't even the part that gets my attention.
It's what this could mean for the cost of precision strikes.
Think about it.
Why use an expensive cruise missile for every target when you can potentially use a much cheaper air launched weapon that can still reach hundreds of kilometres?
That means you can potentially carry and deploy a lot more of them.
Airbases, logistics hubs, command facilities, fuel depots and other important targets could suddenly be threatened much farther behind the frontline.
And then you have the wider FT-12 family, including the rocket boosted variant.
That is where I think China is playing an interesting game.
It's not simply trying to build another long range weapon.
It's trying to make long range precision strike more affordable and scalable.
And if these weapons really can be produced cheaply and in large numbers, that creates a serious headache for air defence.
Because defending against a handful of expensive missiles is one problem.
Defending against large numbers of affordable precision weapons is a completely different problem.
That, to me, is the bigger story behind the FT-12A.
The future of precision warfare may not just be about having the best missile. It may be about having enough of them.

Elon’s best quality is that he can (eventually) honestly self-analyze and improve. Bodes well for his leadership position in AI.
Great interview! Thank you @elonmusk and @WalterIsaacson!
Elon Musk in new interview with Walter Isaacson on the wealth he's created:
"A fundamental misunderstanding of economics arises because of conflating resource allocation and consumption; I've created. My so-called wealth is simply a percentage ownership in SpaceX and Tesla. And this is going to be taxed quite heavily, and there's not some magical way to avoid taxes. If there were I would know about it. At the end of the day, this will get whittled down, and a few generations from now, if money still matters, which I don't think it will, my descendants would have a tiny fraction of what I have."

The NFL’s plan to send the Saints and Steelers to Paris next Sunday is stupid and irresponsible. The league says preparations continue as scheduled at Stade de France, France’s national stadium, despite the ongoing riots and unrest across France.
Paris and much of the country have seen large protests over school conditions and living costs that have turned violent, with thousands arrested, fires set, and clashes with police. Holding the game would just create another target for rioters. Fans shouldn’t be encouraged to risk their lives at a time when Paris is burning.
The U.S. should initiate a travel ban for Paris and the rest of France until the situation stabilizes. It’s not safe. The NFL should move the game back to the United States instead of pretending the unrest won’t affect anyone connected to the event.
If the NFL wants to help Paris and France, it should stay away from the country until Macron secures his borders. Continuing with Sunday’s Saints and Steelers game there under the current riot conditions shows a reckless disregard for the people involved. The league has options to relocate or postpone. Choosing neither is a failure of judgment.
Safety should always come first. The current NFL plan to send teams to Paris on Sunday is dangerous.

God forbid something happens at that game. Families of players/personnel would sue the NFL into oblivion and rightfully so.

🇺🇸🇸🇦🇦🇪 The U.S. just told Americans in 12 Middle East countries to be ready for cancelled flights, closed airspace and sudden changes to their travel plans.
The alerts cover Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Israel and Iran, warning that hostilities could spread and that Iran and its allies may target U.S. interests, including American businesses.
They also flag Houthi strikes on Saudi airports and infrastructure, and Americans are being told to keep a low profile and steer clear of crowds and anywhere tied to the U.S.
The alerts don’t mean airports are shutting down, but when Washington’s travel warning reads like a map of the whole region, maybe hold off on that Gulf getaway.
