Congrats to team members Abdel @AAsserghine and Zirui @ZiruiWangMatSE for earning a Best Poster Award and Best Oral Presentation, respectively, during the @AVS_Prairie meeting at UIUC, highlighting their work on battery electroanalysis! @ChemistryUIUC @MRLatIllinois
Looking forward to judging posters at the supercool 😎#LatinXChem24 event in the analytical chem #LatinXChemAna category! Don’t forget to register your posters at latinxchem.org and to present them in Spanish, Portuguese, or English! Ciencia en tu idioma 😉
All this is possible thanks to the willingness, energy, and trust of our JRL group members who welcome our new group members, students from all areas @ChemistryUIUC and #ILLINOIS, and elsewhere to share their knowledge, ❤️ for echem, and sharpen their skills as scientists
We successfully concluded our 2024 Electrochemistry Bootcamp @ChemistryUIUC A 3-day intensive course on experimental echem covering 18 experiments, 6 lectures, simulations, projects and tons of electrifying energy 😉 Thanks to @NSF @doescience for helping train 42 new echemists!
Fundamental observations of redox polymer behavior, simulations approaching the real thing, and redox flow battery cycling showing a promising Fe-based battery, what’s not to like? Amazing work driven by postdoc Adolfo Romo + collaborators @GroupHelms @rhewoldt @ChemistryUIUC
Grad student Seth Putnam used our new SECM technique to explore the correlation between H2O2 production and OH generation, and (spoiler) they don’t seem yo have a strong correlation. A lot of OH is produced on iron oxide (impurities), though. Congrats, Seth! @ChemistryUIUC
Bootcamp 2024 announcement! ready to learn some practical electrochemistry with us? @ChemistryUIUC @BeckmanIllinois
Aravind @AravindBabs, Racheff teaching fellow amongst other honors, developed a robust toolset to refurbish lead-acid batteries and track their surface (de)passivation; a productive experience with +7 (co)authored works and real prospects for this tech sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
Abhiroop, a Link Foundation fellow, developed an SECM method to measure O2 evolution from Li-ion cathodes and measured the CV of singlet oxygen; despite the pandemic, a productive run of +12 solid (co)authored publications and great ideas to build upon iopscience.iop.org/article/1…
