This cannot be real. This petty tyrant lecturing us about “American democracy” is like being lectured by a screaming five-year-old about self-control. Sit down Mr. President, everyone knows who you really are.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

A warning to the U.S.: My dear American friends, I say this with love, as someone who has lived among you and owes you a great deal: your midterms are on November 3rd. And the same alliance is growing inside your Democratic Party. The same far-left wing that treats disorder as protest and police as the enemy. The same activists who refuse to draw a line between legitimate dissent and those who openly despise the West. The same politicians who think tolerance means tolerating everything, including the people who want to burn it down. It always starts with excuses. Then comes impunity. Then come the flames. Same causes, same effects. If you create the conditions we created, you will get exactly what we got tonight. France was the country of the Enlightenment, of cathedrals and town halls that stood for centuries. Tonight, one of them collapsed live on social media while the government called for calm. My dear American friends, the only advantage you have over us is that you've been warned. Vote like your city hall depends on it. Because one day, it will. “
Tonight, France burned. America, you should be watching very carefully. Today, October 17, 2026, more than half a million people marched across France against the cost of living. By 8pm, around 400 had been arrested. In Paris, police turned water cannons on the crowds at Place de la République, and one march was stopped 150 meters from the Élysée Palace. Of the 195 people arrested in the capital by the afternoon, only one actually lived in Paris. Mobs forced their way into the city halls of Marseille and Lille. In Lyon, a tourism office was set on fire. In Rennes, barricades burned. Near Limoges, a highway was blocked and police cars were torched. And then came Limoges. A crowd of very young people stormed the city hall, a protected historic monument built in the 1880s. They flipped police cars in front of it and set them ablaze, then set the building itself on fire. The flames took the roof, the wedding hall, and the civil registry, the office that records every birth, every marriage, every death in the city. Tonight, the bell tower that has crowned Limoges for nearly 150 years collapsed. The mayor's response: "It's a monument that is burning, not the Republic." That is the problem in one sentence. Our leaders still think words can put out fires. None of this came out of nowhere. For twenty years, the French political class has excused everything. Every riot was "anger." Every burned car was a "social symptom." Every attack on police was "a reaction to provocation." And the hard left, La France Insoumise, which officially backed today's mobilization, built its electoral machine on an alliance with political Islamism: refusing to condemn, refusing to name, trading secularism and public order for votes. In France we have a word for it. Islamo-gauchisme. Islamo-leftism. Tonight you saw where that culture of excuse ends. A country where a mob can burn down a town hall, and the state arrives after the roof has already fallen in. My dear American friends, I say this with love, as someone who has lived among you and owes you a great deal: your midterms are on November 3rd. And the same alliance is growing inside your Democratic Party. The same far-left wing that treats disorder as protest and police as the enemy. NYT: nothing. WSJ: nothing. The Atlantic: nothing. CNN: nothing. MSNBC: nothing. A $2 billion, 40-year Massachusetts courthouse lease goes to a congresswoman's husband who did 10 years in federal prison for drug trafficking and just weeks ago an 18-year-old was shot dead in the head in a house he owns, and the homicide still has no arrests... The entire national press has nothing to say. If this were a Republican, it would be wall-to-wall coverage every single day until the midterms.
Massachusetts Gov. Healey (D) awarded a $2 billion, 40-year lease for a new courthouse to Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s (D) husband, a convicted felon who spent 10 years in federal prison for drug trafficking. A couple of weeks ago, a girl was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in a home owned by Pressley’s husband.

BOMBSHELL: The federal government has determined that Keith Ellison’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is failing to effectively carry out its responsibilities. In a stunning rebuke, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General has placed Minnesota’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit on conditional recertification, citing serious deficiencies in its operations and performance. The Inspector General concluded that the unit “is not effectively carrying out its statutory functions and requirements.”The findings are damning: 📷 The unit failed to exercise proper fiscal control over its federal grant. 📷 It is not effectively using its resources to investigate and prosecute allegations of patient abuse and neglect.📷 Over three years, the unit secured just FOUR convictions related to patient abuse and neglect, ranking 13th out of 15 similarly sized units nationwide.📷 The Inspector General determined that the unit is not adhering to federal performance standards. This isn't a political accusation. These are the findings of the federal government's own Inspector General. Minnesota has been rocked by massive Medicaid fraud scandals, and now we learn that the very unit responsible for investigating and prosecuting Medicaid fraud is failing to meet federal standards. And once again, don't expect the mainstream media to give this story the attention it deserves. Keith Ellison has had years to get this right. Instead, federal officials are raising serious concerns about the performance of his office. Minnesotans deserve an Attorney General who takes fraud seriously, protects vulnerable Minnesotans, and holds criminals accountable. As Attorney General, that's exactly what I'll do.

My post about France went viral. Thousands of likes. Many Americans told me: "Democrats aren't socialists. America will never be France." I want to answer that seriously, step by step. Start with a simple observation. Look at what has gotten cheaper in America over the last 25 years: TVs, phones, software, clothes, toys. Now look at what has exploded: college tuition, healthcare, childcare, housing. What separates the two lists? The first lives in competitive markets. The second is exactly where government is most involved: subsidies, mandates, licensing, zoning, regulation. College. Washington lends students almost unlimited money. Universities know the money will always come, so they raise tuition and hire more administrators. The student pays the bill for twenty years. More government money, higher prices. Housing. Why can't a nurse buy a home in the city where she works? Not because of capitalism. Because of zoning laws, permits, environmental reviews, years of procedure to build a single building. The most expensive places to live in America are the places where it's hardest to build. When building is nearly illegal, prices explode. Healthcare. The patient almost never sees the price. A third party pays, regulations limit who can compete, and costs climb year after year with no one able to say no. So here is the trap. The problems you suffer from are not the failure of free markets. They are the places where the market has already been replaced by the state. And the solution you're being offered is more of the same. That's the Trojan horse. It always works the same way. A real problem. A generous-sounding promise. A program that makes things worse. Then the failure of that program becomes the argument for the next one. People who lived under communism in Poland learned to recognize the lie and the mask the lie wears. The lie never presents itself as a lie. It presents itself as compassion. In France we are at the end of that road. Debt we can never repay. Young people who can't afford a home. Our best people leaving. And every few years our cities burn. Nobody voted for this. They voted for one more generous promise, fifty years in a row. If you're a Republican, share this with the Democrat in your life. Not to win an argument. To start a conversation. If you're a Democrat, I'm not asking you to switch teams. I'm asking you to look at the pattern. Wherever the state took over, life became unaffordable. Don't fix the failures of government with more government. Stay American. Ask for less state, not more.
I’m French. I want to talk to Americans who are about to vote Democrat. Not to insult you. To warn you. I come from your future. In France we did everything your progressive politicians promise. Free healthcare, free college, generous welfare, strong unions, heavy regulation, high taxes on the rich, a state that takes care of everything. Public spending close to 57% of GDP, one of the highest on the planet. On paper, it’s the dream. Here’s what it looks like from the inside. France hasn’t passed a balanced budget since 1974. Our debt is above 3,300 billion euros. Interest on that debt is becoming one of the biggest items in the national budget. Our hospitals are collapsing despite record funding. Our schools rank lower every year. Young people with degrees can’t afford an apartment in the city they were born in. Our best engineers leave for London, Zurich and San Francisco. And the rich you wanted to tax? They left too, and took the jobs with them. The promise was protection. The result is stagnation. The worst part is that nobody in France voted for decline. Every single step sounded generous, compassionate, reasonable. One more program. One more regulation. One more tax to fund it. Each step alone makes sense. Fifty years of them, and you wake up in a country that can no longer build a nuclear plant on time or keep its streets safe. I love America because it’s the one place on earth where people still believe they can build something from nothing. I came to Silicon Valley as a self-taught kid and it changed my life. That spirit is the most precious thing your country has. Before you vote, ask yourself one question: is the program you’re voting for making America more like America, or more like France? Trust me. You don’t want to be France.

On a ri.
