Congratulations to Sen. Lincoln Hough, winner of the Missouri Assoc. of Rural Education’s “Friend of Rural Education” award. Speaking to rural school leaders this week, he said: “I feel like we’ve let you down.” Thank you for recognizing that @MoEducation schools need the tools and resources to serve students. @MASALeaders @MoSenDems @MOSenateGOP @MSTA @MissouriNEA @moasbo @MissouriSBA @MSHSAAOrg @MoAESP @moassp

Some want State Senator Cindy O'Laughlin to be our next @MoEducation Commissioner of Education, despite never working in a public school. Here's what she thinks about our public schools she wants to lead. ⤵️ kcur.org/politics-elections-… @MSTA @MissouriNEA @MASALeaders @moassp @MoAESP @mrta1960 @MissouriSBA @MOTeachers @AFTStLouis @AFTKC @GOCSDMO

As early as this week, the Missouri State Board of Education may appoint Missouri Senate Pro Tem Cindy O'Laughlin as the new @MoEducation Commissioner of Education. Here is the former Republican Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, @lincolnhough, discussing how he was removed as Chair for fully funding the education foundation formula (lightly edited). Contact the state board of education today if you disagree with this move to make Senator O'Laughlin the new Commissioner of our public schools sbe@dese.mo.gov . I hear State Senator Cindy O'Laughin is likely your next Commissioner of Education for @MoEducation. On her website biography, she notes her education credentials for this position--she served as an administrator of a local Christian school and served as a bus driver. Also notes, "she remains a strong advocate for school choice in Missouri." If you have an opinion, I encourage you to email the members of the state board of education at sbe@dese.mo.gov or mail Missouri State Board of Education, P.O. Box 480, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0480, and share your opinion before they make their selection. @MSTA @MissouriNEA @MissouriPTA @JonOttoKC
