WHO CAN RELATE?
Hey doc it’s nice to see you again
“How have you been Mr. Sanders?”
Well, to be honest I feel pretty crummy
“Uh oh, let’s go over your numbers. Well looks like your blood pressure is finally in check, and all it took was a diuretic, ACE inhibitor, a Calcium channel blocker and an ARB to get you tuned up! Oh and your A1C is doing ok at 6.1, , let’s just keep an eye on it and continue with the Metformin for now. Ok great I see your LDL is at 80 mg/dl, looks like that Lipitor is doing the job. Honestly your numbers look pretty good to me.”
But why do I feel so lousy then, could it be a side effect of all the medications?
“Probably not, more likely it’s just that your getting older”
I’m only 37?
“Well you’re not a spring chicken anymore and to be honest a whole lot of my patients your age feel pretty lousy too”
Really, maybe I am just getting old, what do you do with your other patients?
“Well a lot of times they are just depressed and I’ll start them on some anti-depressants”
How does that workout?
“Not too sure but they seem to complain less”
Interesting
“Well Mr. Sanders why don’t I start you on some Zoloft?”
Ok, I guess….. thanks doc
“Great, stop by reception on the way out and book a follow up for 3 months”

The Republican pitch to vote for them in the midterms is the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. It makes me genuinely uncomfortable for the people making the pitch.

All Trump had to do was not go to war in Iran until after the midterms. Economy was picking up. Prices falling. Sentiment optimistic. Gas at $2 in many states. All he had to do was not go to war in Iran until after the midterms.

$10 diesel soon is looking like a realistic possibility. I'm much less worried about the midterms (sort of stupid to to be at this point) and more concerned of the forthcoming mass suffering, and suicides from job losses and cost of living pressures.

You're going to get your entire continent destroyed. This is not an HR matter. It's not office gossip. (The only things you're actually equipped to participate in)
This is war. This is serious. You are so far out of your depth and your woke addled brain makes you a liability.
A couple of days ago, @RepThomasMassie introduced articles of impeachment against Secretary Pete Hegseth over the Trump administration’s war with Iran. By making the resolution privileged, Massie set in motion a process that would force the House to confront the question - and put its members on the record over a war that has continued without specific congressional authorization.
Speaker Mike Johnson’s response?
Send everyone home.
Johnson abruptly ended the House session and sent members back to their districts until after the midterm elections, conveniently postponing the confrontation Massie had forced.
In a way, it’s a fitting conclusion to the first two years of Trump’s second term.
Republicans entered 2025 with control of the White House, the House, and the Senate, propelled by voters who expected them to deliver on the promises they had spent years making. Now, with that window of unified control closing, Johnson and Team Red have chosen to run out the clock rather than remain in Washington and face one of the most fundamental constitutional questions Congress can confront: who gets to decide when America goes to war?
For all their campaign rhetoric about America First, constitutional government, and putting the interests of American citizens ahead of foreign entanglements, the Republican establishment has once again demonstrated where its priorities actually lie.
And yet, for the next six weeks, many of these same politicians will return to their districts and make impassioned pleas for voters to send them back to Washington.
THIS TIME, they’ll tell you, they’re going to come through.
THIS TIME, they’ll keep their promises.
THIS TIME, they’ll fight.
But they’ve spent two years demonstrating what they do when they actually possess power.
They have lied themselves into a political Waterloo and fractured the diverse coalition that put them there. And if control of Congress changes hands, power will simply pass from a Republican establishment unwilling to advance the interests of the people who elected it to a Democratic establishment with a radically different agenda.
It did not have to be this way.
Republicans had the presidency. They had the House. They had the Senate. They had a political mandate and a rare opportunity to demonstrate that all those years of promises actually meant something.
Instead, when confronted with an uncomfortable vote over war, accountability, and congressional authority, the Speaker of the House sent Congress home.
Enjoy the vacation, as Rome burns...

I don’t question October 7.
I know about it.
The IDF stood down for hours and then unleashed the Hannibal directive, killed everything that moved, and blamed Israeli deaths on Hamas as a segue to the genocide they’ve been frothing at the mouth for since Israel’s demonic inception.
Hope this helps.

Here's the thing and this is why Trump has now reached the level to where he's desperate enough to buy votes.
The whole pitch of "America First" was pretty straightforward: stop pouring cash into foreign conflicts, fix the economy, and put American workers before everyone else. But by handing blank-check diplomatic and financial backing to Israel, Trump completely betrayed his own base. It tells the anti-interventionist, populist crowd that when push comes to shove, foreign interests still take priority over high gas prices, inflation, and and ANY promises he ever made to his voters. Including those ala Epstein.
That’s a huge problem for November. The real danger for Republicans isn't that MAGA voters are going to suddenly vote Democratic—it's that they just won't show up,
When working-class voters feel like they got sold standard Washington neoconservative policies wrapped in a populist box, they react accordingly. By putting foreign alliances ahead of the people who actually built his movement, Trump broke the main promise that held his coalition together, America First, and that betrayal will reveal itself as empty voting booths.

Conservatives have a serious problem
America is NOT a constitutional republic, it has slowly transformed into a mass democracy in which the optimal electoral strategy is vote buying
Everyone, philosophers from antiquity all the way to our own Founding Fathers, warned that this form of government was to be avoid at all costs because it would be easily subverted the moment the masses realized they could vote themselves money
The principles of progressives tell them that taxing people and giving their money away is good, the principles of conservatives say that giving money to people, even for very good causes, is bad
This means progressives have access to the winning strategy and conservatives don't, conservatives literally have principles that say they lose long term in mass democracy
Trump knows this and simply rejects that principle, buying votes wins, so we buy votes, simple
Now is this a good idea long term? No, it's a disaster that will cause massive inflation just like it did during COVID and push us toward fascial collapse, but in the short term it is the winning strategy, and mass democracy incentivizes leaders to sacrifice tomorrow for today because if they don't buy votes now someone else will buy votes and they will be in power anyway
Failing to buy votes makes you a loser and losers don't get to set the budget, so there is no winning formula for austerity in American politics, even thought you're factually correct you will lose
If you're playing a game and your principles prevent you from winning you need to change your principles or play an entirely different game, but one of the principles conservatives have added to their slate is that the current system is good and should be maintained
Even thought the founders rejected mass democracy, conservatives have made the preservation of a system they are doomed to lose in one of their core principles
So because conservatives refuse to make the changes necessary to end mass democracy they will have to choose between maintaining their principles and watching the voter buyers win and spend all the money anyway, or abandon their principles and buy the votes themselves
I would prefer we end mass democracy and play a different game, but we aren't going to do that, so these are the political realities before us and no amount of screaming SOCIALISM will make them go away
President Trump has promised to give every US citizen $5000 if the Republicans win the House and Senate in the November midterm elections.
Very reasonable and sound plan. Good work Mr President

Back in January and February, Trump was suffering from a highly exaggerated assessment of Iranian weakness, believing Tehran was about to fall and that it did not dare to fight the US directly. It was an assessment that, in large part, had been curated by Israel.
I fear that once again, only highly filtered information is reaching him, fueling a similar misperception of Iranian "weakness."
Here he is, reposting an article citing Iran's President calling for the war to end. Given the larger context, he appears to be interpreting this as Iranian weakness, that his pressure on Iran is working and that soon, Tehran will have no choice but to surrender.
This will compel him to insist on unreasonable demands (surrender), accept unreasonable military risks (land troops?), and fundamentally miscalculate what needs to be done to bring this war to an end.

It seems kinda worse that Palestinian residents of Gaza are being subjected to constant physical attack, starvation, and wanton slaughter and genocide, but yeah I guess Jewish patrons having their feelings hurt is pretty terrible too...
Here we go again - despite massive backlash surrounding Macklemore opening for @edsheeran, a repeat occurred a few moments ago at @MetLifeStadium in New Jersey.
Jewish patrons should not be subjected to this propaganda.

Explaining this one more time.
The GOP will green light all Israel funding. The Dems will green light all Ukraine funding. Neither war is popular enough to pass standing alone. So they are attempting to merge the wars and the aid packages to keep both wars going.
Now you get it.
I received warm congratulations for the people of Ukraine from Prime Minister @netanyahu of Israel. Our countries share deep bonds – between our people in the first place, but also in the economy, culture, and other areas. It is therefore good to hear of Israel’s desire to strengthen these existing ties. We count on working fruitfully together to bring about more security.
