ROCKVILLE MAN INDICTED IN $100 MILLION COVID-19 TEST FRAUD SCHEME — PROSECUTORS ALLEGE $50 MILLION PAID OUT, LUXURY CARS AND $4 MILLION PROPERTY PURCHASED. GREENBELT, Md. — Federal prosecutors have indicted Marc Aaron Potash, 57, of Rockville, accusing him of orchestrating a massive healthcare fraud scheme through Gaithersburg-based Tiero LLC. According to the Justice Department, between January 2022 and May 2026, Potash and alleged co-conspirators submitted more than $100 million in fraudulent claims, collecting over $50 million in insurance payments. Prosecutors allege the company shipped ordinary at-home COVID-19 tests while billing Medicare, Medicaid, federal employee health plans and other insurers as though medical professionals had performed laboratory testing. Investigators also allege fraudulent paperwork was used to obtain laboratory certification. The indictment identifies purchases and transactions involving: * A Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz * A $4 million property in Beallsville, Maryland * Two securities transfers exceeding $4 million and $8 million Potash faces conspiracy, seven healthcare fraud counts and five counts involving transactions in allegedly criminal proceeds. The prosecution is part of the Trump administration’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.
