I know it's hard to hear, but car dependency wasn't an organic development in the US. 100 years ago parents weren't satisfied with "sorry about your dead kids, but fast traffic is progress." Marketing is how the industry responded.

Ben Shapiro describing a plot twist common to murder mysteries as him being "deceived by the screenwriter" tells me a lot about why he failed in his screenwriting career. Makes sense he switched to the much less mentally taxing role of Pundit Who Debates Teenagers.

❄️Curious what years we've had a White Christmas in Rochester, MN? This graphic shows the history back to 1952. A 'white Christmas' qualifies when there is an inch of snow or more on the ground that day. #rochmn

The "bike lanes cause congestion" fallacy confused me until I remembered that people in this country continue to have a problem understanding fractions (e.g. that 1/3 is actually bigger than 1/4). The quickest way to reduce car traffic is with safe and reliable alternatives.
