So while I have your attention, it’s my job as a journalist to remind you of them, too. I met Khanzada in 2019. He and his little brother grew up in family of farmers in a small village in Nangarhar’s Khogyani district.

The one news update I saw today that lifted the corners of my mouth.
Drakes Beach in front of the Ken Patrick Visitor Center is temporarily closed due to a large number of male elephant seals. Beach access will be restored as soon as the males move elsewhere. That could be tomorrow, a week from now, or longer. Check back here for up-to-date info.

I just don’t want to hear anyone else on tv or the radio say they can’t believe this is happening in America. It was signaled and projected. It was foreseen and forwarned. After all the falsehoods and fanning of grievances... it was...sadly ... inevitable

Happening in #Sacramento @SCUSD. Here's what @POTUS tells parents who don't have resources to feed their children: Follow #pubhealth rules to avoid getting, spreading COVID. Trump requires food aid boxes to come with a letter from him politi.co/2SiHTGY via @politico
Remember many recipients of @USDA food boxes are low-wage + essential workers who don't have privilege to work remotely/safely. Trump's using fed $ to promote himself to the public when voting is already underway. Unsurprising. @ucfoodobserver @feedamerica @cafoodbanks

Yesterday I spent 45 min w/ my 11 yr old learning to make paper cranes for a school project. It was 1 million times better for my mind, nervous system and heart than the 90 mins I spent watching *that thing* Iast night.

A Caucasian man in his 70s exited a #Sac @peetscoffee without a mask. I realized I didn’t yet have mine on. He said Don’t put it on! I said What? Why wouldn’t I? He said Don’t put it on! + grinned. I put on my mask. He drove off in a white pickup w/ a Q sticker on the cab window.
