🇨🇳‼️ Kremlin has increased the gas discount for China to 56%. The discount on Russian gas purchased by China via the Power of Siberia pipeline, launched seven years ago, will reach an unprecedented level this year, according to budget law materials published in the State Duma database. Gazprom's average annual price for the Chinese market will be $247.9 per thousand cubic meters. Meanwhile, the company's other customers abroad will pay $562. This brings the discount to $315 per thousand cubic meters, or 56%. Compared to last year, the discount for China will increase by 15%: then, China purchased gas for $240.3 per thousand cubic meters, compared to $406.5 from Gazprom's other customers abroad (a 41% discount). Next year, according to budget documents, the Kremlin will continue to sell gas to Beijing at practically half price: $251.3 per thousand cubic meters, 46% lower than other foreign supplies ($450). For 2028, the Ministry of Economic Development is projecting a reduction in discounts to 32% ($247.8 versus $361.9), and for 2029, to 24% ($246.4 versus $323.2).
