I’ve been telling anyone who will listen that I’d be very surprised if Jasminka Kalajdzic doesn’t get appointed to the bench soon, and now she has! Congratulations, Justice Kalajdzic!
What a great reason to get back on Twitter -- all the best people are getting appointed! Congratulations to Justice Kalajdzic and my (now former) partner Justice Dietrich! Spectacular appointments that will be sorely missed at the Bar.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it. This sounds like a lot of fun. And just in time -- a huge minority of those Rules became incongruous with practice directions or fully dead letters during the pandemic.
I was planning to write some "spot the evidentiary problem" questions for our trial advocacy workshop but I think I'll just read this out loud and give the associates Jeopardy! buzzers.

Habba: How do you suggest I proceed?
Judge Kaplan: Show it to her, ask if she recognizes it.
Habba: Do you recognize it?
Carroll: Yes.
Judge Kaplan: It's not marked. It should be marked. Do it appropriately. Do it overnight. They. Need. To. Be. Premarked.
Just shared a grin with a guy in a Dodgers cap on the TTC and no word of a lie, that took the edge off a bit
At this point Ohtani is going to sign tomorrow and the entire city will just wave feebly from the couch with a cool cloth on our foreheads #OhtaniWatch
Hi everyone! Class actions in Ontario turn 30 years old this year. Come join us to celebrate at the annual Colloquium and/or the afterparty, featuring a keynote from Justice Jamal, an award presentation to Sylvie Rodrigue, and -- yes! -- canapes!

Just a heads up that the hiring committee @robsonhall will begin reviewing applications as of October 31, 2023 for an assistant/associate/full professor position with a special focus on Criminal Law, Evidence, or Human Rights Law. See the link for details

I don’t care if it’s the third time through the order, this is not the correct decision.
Left-hander Yusei Kikuchi in for the Blue Jays.
José Berríos exits after getting nine outs on 47 pitches, leaving Royce Lewis on first base.
Pretty clear this was Toronto's plan all along.

I’ve got for invites for the Other Place if anyone wants to join the old school #LawTwitter party over there

I cannot believe Bob Barker lived as close to 100 as possible without going over.
Hey, that's me! Congratulations to everyone making the list this year, especially those I had the privilege to vote for. I really appreciate the support of my colleagues in the class actions bar, and the restraint of @chorkins who could easily have installed a scoreboard by now.
Cassels is proud to announce that 85 of our lawyers – across 30 practice areas – have been named to the 2024 edition of @BestLawyers in Canada, the strongest showing ever for the firm.
Congratulations to all of our colleagues on this recognition! bit.ly/3P7gar4
It’s been awfully quiet here on #LawTwitter for a few months now. Have we settled on a new spot at all in light of the fact that for some reason Roseanne keeps showing up in the timeline?
I’m just “jermartin” on this one
