Jeter to Murphy...
“The Brewers play baseball the right way” ….
- Pat Murphy replies … “Guys today don’t understand that!”
We have gotten so far away from center as to what winning baseball is and looks like… the younger generation’s focus is on launch angle, spin rates, velocity and you only win by out slugging the opponent! Basically…. Hit more HR than the other team…. Then pimp the HR.
Well eyes have been opened. They have to be. It’s now a matter of … if pride will keep the other orgs from following. If they do… our game will skyrocket like never before.
It was literally the most beautiful baseball I have seen at the MLB level … electric!

A dad called me upset about his current travel team. Spent $80K+ over 5 years. His son a senior with 0 college offers. He feels cheated
Expensive tournaments don’t guarantee college exposure, connections, or relationships
Don’t confuse a big logo with real college connections

In hitting (baseball), power is the last thing to develop. Amateur scouts used to say that a good statistic that projects future power potential is the amount of Doubles a player hits. As the hitter gets stronger and matures, they will learn how to create loft and maximize distance.
Chasing power at a young age is a tough task for developing hitters that don't have the prerequisite physicality and building blocks that go into a power stroke. They are putting the cart before the horse and wondering why progress is stagnant.
Learn how to hit line drives on various locations and power will come, naturally.
Everyone obsesses over level in recruiting, but here's the truth: After you graduate, no one cares what level you played.
Employers love hiring former athletes. Period.
Not because they were D1, D2, or D3, but because being a college athlete proves you have discipline and work ethic.
A lot of high school recruits say they really want to play in college...until the only calls they get are from D3 schools
Be grateful if any college is interested in you
93.5% of high school athletes don't get to play their sport at the next level

Want to play college baseball…? better read this below carefully. (Not sure who to credit) but it’s spot on….
Every kid we recruit works hard and lifts weights.
Every kid takes 100’s reps.
Every kid says they care and want to win!
So that’s not what separates guys anymore. You better be doing all those things with intent or you have no shot!!!
So the difference in a standard “good HS player” and “GREAT HS player” is:
Who can stay consistent when it’s NOT going well.
Because everyone looks good:
- When they’re getting hits
- When they’re starting
- When things feel easy
But when it flips?
0–3
Sitting the bench
That’s when things speed up
That’s where most players change.
Body language drops
Energy dips
Confidence disappears
**** And that’s when coaches (recruiters) make decisions.
Not when things are going right…
but when they’re NOT.
So the real question:
When things AREN’T going your way…
what version of you shows up?
Joe Clancy retweeted
The changeup question, answered by a Big Ten staff: Maryland will not start a pitcher who cannot throw three or more pitches in the strike zone, and one of them must be a changeup or splitter. Jimmy Jackson calls the changeup the equalizer. Every kid wants to spin the ball. Those who start on Friday learned to take speed off it.

Well well well… I guess real baseball matters again… and it wins. Don’t strike out. Get the ball in play. Hustle, steal bases, throw strikes, compete. Yea, bombs are good… but so are doubles, singles, bunt for hits, moving runners … pressure on defense. Why has it taken this long to figure it out! That’s what pisses me off. Winning Baseball ….. well it wins! At every level.

Improved a lot this summer by getting my 60 time to a 6.50 (laser) and my EV over 100 mph.
In game I hit over .400 with 5 home runs, 8 doubles, a triple and an OPS around 1.200.
