Unlike @SCE, 99% of LADWP is urban. Concrete, asphalt and people. Not much dry vegetation under lines

And why doesn’t LADWP turn off power? Why is it only EDISON & PGE?

LADWP is a separate entity from the city while the mayor has given the “honor“ of nominating the general manager, mayor has absolutely no authority over the utility. City Council, however, overseas contracts rates & tiers. This is how Mulholland demanded the set up a century ago
LADWP is directly controlled by Karen Bass. It looks like San Clemente gets most of its reservoir water from two regional agencies outside the city. Don’t know how much control the major would have. From Grok LADWP is a proprietary (self-supporting) department of the City of Los Angeles under the City Charter. It is overseen by a five-member Board of Water and Power Commissioners, which sets policy, controls finances/assets, and appoints the top executive. Board members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council for five-year terms. ladwp.com Current Board of Commissioners (as of the latest official listing): • Allan Marks — President (appointed by Mayor Karen Bass in late 2025) • Nurit Katz — Vice President • Wilma Pinder — Commissioner • Benny Tran — Commissioner (appointed by Mayor Bass in late 2025) • Rudy Ortega Jr. — Commissioner The Board meets regularly (typically the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month). ladwp.com

Despite popular belief, LADWP doesn’t set rates. They are non profit and buy what the customer uses plus overhead. Should any of those costs change CITY COUNCIL LOOKS AT INFO AND VOTESYAY OR NAY as part of thier role check and balance. Be it rates, tiers, fees or charges=COUNCIL
Back to school. DWP IS NONPROFIT. End of year books balance at zero. Council sets rates and tiers. Tier 1 artificially low for poor. That deficit is made up by the surcharge added for tier 3 customers. Tier 2 reflects actual cost.

Unlike @PGE4Me @SCE over 99% of @LADWP overhead lines are in an urban setting. Cement, asphalt and people. The other two have hundreds of miles of overhead wires in unpopulated hills with untrimmed brush. After getting sued for millions, they are now gunshy

LADWP is nonprofit. All actual costs are passed to customer. If you want anyone to pay less, the remaining customers must pay more. Despite you wanting to be a do gooder, nobody gets special treatment. You will get equal treatment soon enough, WLA INFRASTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT $
LACoFD, LAFD, LADBS, LADWP, and LA County has offset the burden of infrastructure improvements on fire survivors who are trying to rebuild. All (I have emails with everyone) in leadership are aware of this and do not care.

I thought all Spencer was going to leave the state if he didn’t get the win. But no, he’s still around doing his one trick pony routine about LADWP. Remember, you’re supposed to feel sorry for the guy who was using 8.4 Kilowatts every hour. That’s 84 100Watt bulbs 24/7
Is there still a chance for @spencerpratt as write in candidate? I hope so, these two ladies are the choice between Pest or Cholera 🧐

For all the #MAGA lemmings parroting the Trump propaganda, 30 miles from #LADWP water lines. Have to act fast and find someone else to blame
#UPDATE: Authorities have added another location to the mandatory evacuation zone, as crews work to contain the fast-moving wildfire. Follow KTLA's Live coverage at KTLA.com and on KTLA+ ktla.com/news/local-news/wil…

So this poster wants the water cruise to attempt to repair an 8 inch Watermain while it gushes water out at full force. Brilliant.
Sociopaths: With another dangerous fire season here, what does Karen Bass and the Commies do??? ALLOW ALL WATER TO BE SHUT OFF??! She takes a page out of #Obamas dirty little tricks book, "Do NOT fix problem,, make it far worse..."

Prat again exposes his total ignorance. That bill in question. Equivalent to 84 100 W lightbulbs 24 hours a day seven days a week for two months. You do know what a 55 gallon drum looks like the house in question use the equivalent of 38 of those each day for 58 days.
Lol I have LADWP and know very well how shitty they are. Their shittyness with the bill that is posted above and the reservoir not being full are two seperate unrelated issues. Also that isn’t even remotely close to a normal house usage. And also not a commie or faggot.

Total 3 tiers. Lowest consumption pays below cost. 2nd tier pays at cost & 3 rd tier pays above cost. The 3 rd tier money is used to supplement the the payments from those in 2st tier. City Council attempting to micro manage water use
Google AI tells me that LADWP has tiered pricing, where the more you use, the higher the rate becomes, to discourage people from using too much. Not defending them, but seeking to understand how a bill like this can occur. Then they do nothing constructive with the money.

If you mean the Center Inez, you wait until the repairs are finished putting a liner in due to the seismic cracks that would’ve endangered thousands of people on the downward slope from 117,000,000 gallons of water
What do we need to do to get the reservoirs filled in California?!🤬🤬@realDonaldTrump @RichardGrenell @epaleezeldin

Water meters are as simple as a car’s odometer to read. If your read is HIGHER than what was used for billing, it is correct. Not DWP responsibility to identify or locate leaks
The problem is that LADWP completely fabricates the usage numbers and there is no way to prove them wrong. I live in a modest 3br 2br house in LA county and LADWP says I use 800 gallons of water a day. Impossible. But also impossible to refute them

Info only, the whole deposit thing is due to the millions lost when customers skipping out on last bill
Wife and I just moved, barely had electricity on in September except AC for 5 days during that heat wave again, then there's a $205 deposit? Lol wtf is that. Ladwp feels mafia owned, we need to audit them and see their numbers

1/2 I love it when idiots complain and then post the actual bills. The bill posted shows 11,800 KWH used over 58 days simple math 203 KWH per every 24 hour period. They’re complaining about a bill that is the equal of 84 100 Watt lightbulbs being left on 24/7 for two months.
Texas deregulated its electricity market in 2002. Most residents choose their provider. Competition keeps prices down. Los Angeles has LADWP, a city-owned monopoly with no competition, no accountability, and an $8,500 utility bill to show for it.

Not quite. From the 1950’s DWP asked City Council to raise rates for infrastructure replacement costs. This was refused every year by cowardly Council people. Basically until 2013 there was no money to replace aging systems 2013 is when citywide blackouts occurred.
Replying to @spencerpratt
This is why our LADWP bills are so high. They have to fix sinkholes and Water main leaks every other week.

2/2 now let’s talk about the water. 170 HCF divided by 58 equals 2.9 per day that equals about 2100 gallons every 24 hour period. Everyone knows how big a 55 gallon drum is, 38 of those every day. We are supposed to feel sorry for whoever got that bill
