It’s so rare to see a bloke talk about their struggles while in the midst of them.
So brave, I hope he turns a corner soon.
And fair play to the interviewer for not letting protocol get in the way of empathy.

Thank you, @SenBlumenthal and @SenThomTillis, for the opportunity to meet with you and your colleagues from both parties and both chambers of Congress. I informed them about Russia’s brutal “shahed” drone attack in the Kharkiv region, where Russia killed six people, including a mother and her child, who was just over a year old. I showed the horrifying photos from the scene – a child killed in a stroller… This is how Russia responds to sanctions waivers and reduced pressure.
I also explained where things stand with intelligence sharing and Starlink operations in Ukraine. Unfortunately, we received no early warning from our partners about the first wave of the Russian ballistic missile attack last night. And we still face speed restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services in different parts of the front. No explanation for either of these issues has been provided to Ukraine by the American side.
Our teams will follow up on everything discussed today. I thank everybody who participated in this call for their strong support.

Ukraine’s freedom is not President Trump’s to bargain away.
He is wrong to ease sanctions on Russian diesel, wrong to blame President Zelensky for prolonging Putin’s war, and wrong to undermine a nation fighting for its right to exist. Russia is the aggressor. Always has been. Reward Russia, and we should expect to see more aggression, including from other countries. We can also kiss goodbye to any just and lasting peace.
This is why Conservatives have stood with Ukraine against Putin. Ukraine’s future belongs to Ukrainians. They alone have the right to choose their president, and we stand with President Zelensky because he fights not for himself, but for the survival of his country and his people.

For perspective, £50,270 is roughly $66k. In the US, a single filer at that income sits in the 22% federal tax bracket. To reach top federal rates approaching 40% in the States, you have to earn over $640,000 (where the highest 37% bracket begins). The UK hits middle-to-higher earners far earlier and harder.

Heathrow is one of Britain’s most important strategic assets. To expand it, in the final resort, is not a decision for London. It is a decision for the national government.

At some point you have to consider whether anyone in power actually likes the United Kingdom.
Or whether they loathe it.
Our politicians are behaving like victorious administrators of a state defeated in war. Limiting the growth potential of the country they crushed.

The evidence is damning from the last time the government used taxpayer money to subsidise house prices.
You can't fix affordability by lending people even more debt.

What's depressing about the Botley Road Bridge is that thought was put into the design, but it still looks ugly.
Planning docs claim the "gothic themed shape" along the side of the bridge is "inspired" by and "sympathetic to" Oxford's character.
They could have done this:

If the UK can be so dumb the eyes of the world when it comes to Chagos, why would anyone come help with the Falklands and even Northern Ireland?
Government begging to give away some critical territories while sulking about lack of support for others.
Mixed signal mess.

This is the countermeasure Israel never wanted to use.
It hasn't even used it against Spain.
That shows you how much Israel understands the Labour Government is already hellbent on burning its bridges with Israel, and it's used its worst ammo.
🚨A senior British official tells me the UK is considering its response to the Israeli decision to close the consulate in Jerusalem.
As we reported last night, Israel sent a diplomatic note demanding that the consulate be closed within 30 days, as part of its retaliatory measures in response to sanctions imposed by the British government.

It's simple: boycotting the world’s only Jewish state is antisemitism.
Arkansas law makes clear that we won’t do business with any company that deliberately chooses to engage in BDS activities. Period.
SO NOW OUR STATES CAN BOYCOTT THE UK
Close to 40 states across the U.S. have laws that require ending contracts with and/or divesting from companies that engage in antisemitic boycotts, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) against Israel. These states whose combined GDP is significant should publicly make clear to countries such as the UK that companies that engage in BDS because of their decisions will face consequences under state anti-BDS laws. By the way, Florida and Texas combined have a much larger GDP than the UK.
