Last week, my company @AwesomeMotive acquired a popular free WordPress plugin WP Crontrol.
My primary goal was to give this incredibly useful plugin a good home because we use it ourselves, and I have a lot of respect for John Blackbourn (original creator).
WP Crontrol will remain free forever.
As part of our commitment, in today's release, we just added all the previously Pro features in the Free version including Cron Logs, Cron Alerts, and newly added Cron AI.

I hate CAPTCHAs.
And so do your customers ... up to 40% of them abandon a form the moment they see one.
But the alternative used to be worse.
At one point, my @wpbeginner forms got 18,000 spam requests in a single night.
So I tried everything. Honeypots, rate limiting, etc -- they worked for a while until they didn't.
There are premium spam tools, but they're often slow & expensive. They flag real people without telling me why.
So I asked my team to build something better.
It's called ActiveLayer (@activelayerapi) - an AI-powered spam protection that blocks bots without ever asking your real customers to prove they're human.
No CAPTCHAs. No tracking scripts. No friction.
It runs server-side in milliseconds and returns a verdict with a confidence score, so you can actually see why something was flagged.
It works with every WordPress form plugin you already use including WPForms (@easywpforms), @gravityforms, Contact Form 7, Elementor (@elemntor), etc.
There's also a clean REST API for everything else, so you can use it on any application platform, not just WordPress.
Think of it as a smart security guard for your forms. It welcomes real people, blocks the bots, and never asks anyone to prove they are human.
Let's make the web a little less spammy together.

Peter Steinberger is joining OpenAI to drive the next generation of personal agents. He is a genius with a lot of amazing ideas about the future of very smart agents interacting with each other to do very useful things for people. We expect this will quickly become core to our product offerings.
OpenClaw will live in a foundation as an open source project that OpenAI will continue to support. The future is going to be extremely multi-agent and it's important to us to support open source as part of that.

Your WordPress site is hoarding thousands of images you've never seen.
Every time you upload a photo, WordPress secretly creates 5-10 different size variations. Thumbnails. Medium. Large. Custom theme sizes.
Most of them? Never used. Not once.
A site with 5,000 images can easily have 20,000+ unused image files sitting on your server right now.
This wasted storage space inflates your backups. Slows down migrations. And quietly drains your hosting budget.
The worst part? You can't manually fix this. Sorting through thousands of files to figure out which ones are safe to delete would take days. Maybe weeks.
That's exactly why my team Duplicator (@duplicatorwp) built WP Media Cleanup.
In 1-click, it scans your entire site: posts, pages, widgets, custom fields, everything.
It identifies which image variations are actually being used and shows you exactly what's taking up space for no reason.
You can then Delete in bulk.
Now I know as a website owner, this kind of bulk operation can be scary, so we built-in a safety net.
We never delete original files.
Only the unused variations. Plus, deleted files are backed up for 30 days, so you can restore anything with one click if needed.
This is a tool we've used on many of our own sites and have saved up to 50% of disk space.
For $29/year, that's probably the highest ROI purchase you can make as a WordPress site owner trying to keep hosting costs under control.
Especially if you're an agency managing multiple client sites. Those savings compound fast. Also we have WP-CLI support as well for our devs & agencies 😎

Unfortunately that's the sad reality with many acquisitions.
If you are a SaaS founder who want to exit while making sure your legacy is well taken care of, we are always looking to buy wonderful software businesses.

M&A pricing can be a weird thing
Meta buys Manus for $2B+ at $125m ARR
Then likely … abandons all that revenue. It is a distraction, and in the end, immaterial to Meta’s revenues. Whatever Meta does with it, it likely won’t be investing more in the current product as it is.
You sell your startup in part, sometimes at least, on ARR multiples that in the end in many ways don’t matter as the ARR is immaterial or abandoned by the acquirer
It’s just how it works

THIS is a really useful feature for WordPress site owners 😍
My team at Search & Replace Everything just added the ability to view Previous Searches and run repeat bulk operations with 1 click.
Highly recommend this plugin by our WPCode team (@wpcodelibrary).
