Grateful to all of our wonderful panelists and community members who turned out for Monday’s healthcare roundtable.
American healthcare is broken. We heard about cancer patients turning to Canada for drugs insurers might not approve. Nurses whose patients end up on life support because they can't afford their inhalers. And folks like JJ Holmes who spent 18 years on Florida’s waitlist for the iBudget Medicaid waiver.
These are policy choices. And it doesn’t have to be this way in the United States of America. I will fight like hell in Congress to make healthcare affordable and accessible. Let's vote for better in November.

If you are undecided in the race for Florida Governor, then please read this. It genuinely gets to the difference between Byron Donalds and @davidjollyfl. Actually, gets to the difference between both parties. One uses the idea of fraud and abuse as a slogan and as a way to abuse others, the other understands the facts and will help those he is elected to help. Fraud and abuse are happening in Florida and look no further than the ongoing HOPE Florida theft of $10 million dollars by the DeSantis administration from funds intended to help the author of this article. Byron Donalds has made clear he won't investigate, but David Jolly will.

Last nite , I had the honor of seeing @davidjollyfl in Venice
Unbeknownst to me, it was primarily an event to honor the disabled in Florida . Some of us showed up anyway bc it was still a chance to hear him speak
What a beautiful event
Some of you know “JJ”, the SUPREME WARRIOR disabled activist who frequents Tallahassee in his wheelchair and AI assist speech
He said something so powerful I felt it should not go unnoticed
He was talking about how little Ron DeSantis has done for the disabled in Florida and in fact hurt their cause ( “unwinding”Medicaid resulting in coverage lapses) … and said it was important he interview both gubernatorial candidates re their agenda for those with disabilities
“JJ” spoke with Byron Donalds who said “he’d make sure he addressed “fraud”🥹
He then said when I asked David Jolly the same question, he “asked about my life , what are my challenges and how can I help”
( this was after David walked down the entire first row of about 25 disabled people and personally shook their hand and had a few words with each person)

The disability community across Florida has seen a continued erosion of support services since Jeb Bush left the Governorship. We sadly rank near the bottom nationally and I have pledged to reverse this shameful trend.
Now, the President is taking aim by asserting that the ADA does not guarantee people with disabilities the right to live and receive services in integrated community settings. He's wrong and he's undoing decades of settled law. As Governor, I'll make sure Florida continues home and community-based care for individuals with disabilities and for those who rely on long-term care. It's simply the right thing to do.
