Cheating bastard. Got a fellow pro sent off. An embarrassment to the once proud name of Liverpool Football Club.
🇫🇷 Jeremy Jacquet won the most tackles (5) and the most duels (11) on the pitch today. Simply sensational.

I remember the days when there was honour among professional footballers. You’d never try to get a fellow pro sent off. Those days are gone. Jacquet was a fucking disgrace today and he knows why. I was 20ft away & watched him goad a young lad into a red card. He shd be ashamed.
This is embarrassing from Jeremy Jacquet . Never a Red card imo

Definitely a sending off. Yarmo was naive, but the excuse for a ref allowed Jaquet to repeatedly goad him. Jaquet wasn’t even looking at the ball and was allowed three attempts at winding him up. He typified a very cynical un-Liverpool display. Best team lost.
If he gave Brentford’s player a red card, why didn’t the referee also award Liverpool a penalty? The incident happened in Brentford penalty box.

Well at least the MotM decision is easy today eh @prorefofficial ? If ever there was a less apt name for a body yours is it. John Brookes latest in a growing line of utterly incompetent officials. They are consistent though. Yarmo foolish but ref allowed it to escalate.

Spot on... he's an odious human being
Whether you’re woke or MAGA, Christian or atheist, red or blue, surely everyone can agree that the leader of the free world responding to the horrific death of a vulnerable young man in a tiger enclosure by sharing footage of his terrible fate, and then posting an AI-generated version of the encounter portraying himself as capable of surviving it, is sick, deranged and profoundly disturbing. Whatever that AI video was supposed to demonstrate, it was an appalling display of narcissism and a complete absence of basic human decency. And it shames America. It shames the country’s reputation, and it shames the people who put this man in the White House. This isn’t about being left-wing or right-wing. Millions of Americans voted for Trump because they are conservatives, because they believe in family values, personal responsibility and freedom. Yet their president routinely behaves in ways that make a mockery of those very values. I’m a Brit watching from afar, and I’m not interested in any whataboutery. There’s plenty about my own country and its political leaders that I find deeply shameful. But I genuinely cannot think of a British leader in my lifetime who has displayed quite such a grotesque combination of infantility, offensiveness and narcissism as the current president of the United States. This isn’t strength. It isn’t humour. It isn’t owning the liberals. It’s the behaviour of a man who appears incapable of recognising that the suffering and death of another human being should not be turned into an opportunity for self-glorification. It’s utterly shameful. The sooner Donald Trump leaves the political stage, the better. And I sincerely hope the midterms mark the beginning of that process.

Classic case of Ex Man U man Neville only seeing what he wants to see. Both should be reds.
How is this only a red for Bentacur and not Shaw 😭😭 #MNUTOT

Absolutely fantastic show in Leamington @TroyHawke - haven’t laughed so much in ages - but wish I’d asked the question… what was the denouement of the Scandi Roy Keane confrontation? Jim (12)

🚨🚨🚨 RICHARD LEESE, ANDY BURNHAM AND THE MANCHESTER-UAE NETWORK One name keeps appearing when you trace Manchester’s relationship with Sheikh Mansour’s investment network: Sir Richard Leese. 🏛️ Leese led Manchester City Council for 25 years. 🏗️ In August 2014, he became a director of Manchester Life Development Company. Companies House records Sheikh Mansour as the controlling shareholder in that company, with more than 50% of the shares and voting rights. Manchester City Council holds more than 25%. (find-and-update.company-info…) Leese later became a director of further Manchester Life companies, including Manchester Life Development Company 2 and Manchester Life Strategic Development Company. (find-and-update.company-info…) 🗳️ Then Andy Burnham was elected Mayor of Greater Manchester in 2017. One of Burnham’s first major appointments? 🤝 Richard Leese as Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester, responsible for business and the economy. (greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk) So between 2017 and 2021, Leese simultaneously sat at the centre of: 🏛️ Manchester City Council. 📈 Burnham’s Greater Manchester leadership and economic policy. 🏗️ Manchester Life, the development partnership majority controlled by Sheikh Mansour. He left the Manchester Life boards on 1 December 2021. 🔄 On the very same day, Bev Craig replaced him as a Manchester Life director. (find-and-update.company-info…) Then came another remarkable development. ⚽ After leaving Manchester City Council, Leese was appointed an Honorary President of Manchester City FC. The club itself praised him for his role in the regeneration of East Manchester, now home to the Etihad Stadium and City Football Academy. (mancity.com) So the chain is remarkably tidy: 🏛️ Manchester council leader 🏗️ Sheikh Mansour-controlled Manchester Life director 🤝 Andy Burnham’s Deputy Mayor and economy lead ⚽ Manchester City Honorary President None of this, by itself, proves wrongdoing. But it shows just how closely Manchester’s Labour political establishment, its regeneration machinery and the Abu Dhabi-backed Manchester City ecosystem became intertwined. And Burnham was not standing outside that system. He put Leese at the heart of his own Greater Manchester administration.

Burnham has come out with a lot of stuff this week but his comments on Man City’s owners are not only staggering but worthy of investigation. Let’s not forget he’s the PM yet here he is effectively supporting allegedly corrupt practices. Jaw dropping stuff.

The world is going mad.
The UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said he would be “really concerned” to lose Manchester City’s Emirati owners from the Premier League. “They’ve been such a huge partner in the building of modern Manchester and obviously the building of Manchester City into the global force that it is.” More from @AdamCrafton_ ⬇️ bit.ly/4dN8yG9

If this is substantively true then it's deeply disturbing. I don't have time to seek verification but the level of detail is a real worry – not to mention a potential threat to our safety.
THIS MORNING. RAF FAIRFORD. 00:45. A pensioner called 999. Not MI5. Not GCHQ. A villager spotted three suspicious vans heading toward a US bomber base and dialled 999. Five men arrested under the Explosives Act, then upgraded to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act: preparation of a terrorist act. Three vans. 85 homes evacuated at 1.30am. Army bomb disposal robot inside a 400-metre cordon. Counter Terrorism Policing now leading. Major incident declared. The operation was not intelligence-led. A resident made a phone call. That is what stopped it. The IRGC already told you this was coming. In July 2026, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a formal statement naming RAF Fairford specifically as "a legitimate target." They cited the US B-1B bombers striking Iran from British soil, authorised first by Keir Starmer in March 2026 and continued by Prime Minister Andy Burnham. They published the threat. They named the base. Seven months later five men turned up at it after midnight. The intelligence services had no warning. A villager did. Now the part they really do not want you to know. Last November the National Crime Agency arrested a man in central London on a German warrant. His name is Mohammed Naim. Son of Basem Naim, Hamas politburo member, former Gaza health minister, US-sanctioned terrorist. Mohammed served as personal bodyguard to Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh from 2006. He was photographed doing it. AFP published the images. In 2010 Egyptian police arrested him for smuggling weapons and gold through tunnels into Gaza. That arrest was documented. On record. Available to any Home Office caseworker. In 2015 he walked into a British Home Office and claimed asylum. They gave it to him. Theresa May's Home Office granted him indefinite leave to remain. He later received full British citizenship. Changed his name. More than once. Settled in suburban England as an IT consultant. Raised a family. The state never looked twice. In summer 2025 he travelled to Berlin. Collected five handguns and ammunition from a Hamas contact. Drove to Vienna. Stored the weapons in a storage unit. Recorded a propaganda video announcing the plot. Target: Jewish community centres, Israeli diplomats, pro-Israel events across Germany and Austria. Timed for the second anniversary of October 7. Mossad and German intelligence foiled it. British intelligence did not find it. A court granted him anonymity for 100 years. He sits in a British cell while Germany waits for extradition. The state that gave him the passport is now hiding his identity. Indefinitely. Now look at what your Prime Minister found time for this morning. While five men were arrested at gunpoint outside an airbase the IRGC had publicly threatened, while 85 families were evacuated in the middle of the night, while bomb disposal robots crawled through vans a mile from sleeping US bomber crews, Andy Burnham was on the BBC. He was asked about Daniel Thomas. A father of four. A former soldier. A working man. And Burnham said it is "hard to conclude" he is "anything other than someone who has racist views." Instant. Confident. No hesitation. No "inappropriate to comment." Asked about five terrorism arrests at a US bomber base: "It would be inappropriate to comment further whilst investigations are ongoing." Asked about 85 families evacuated at midnight with zero intelligence warning: he is "being kept updated." Asked about a Hamas weapons operative handed a British passport who moved guns across Europe: silence. He found the words to attack a British father in seconds. He cannot find words for the people who were almost blown up this morning. This is the government that calls you racist for wanting to know who is crossing the border. This is the government that houses asylum seekers in better accommodation than 75% of the working families funding it. This is the government that gave a Hamas weapons operative a British passport and then a century of anonymity when he was caught. This is the government that sat on an IRGC threat against British soil and left a pensioner to do the job of the security services. They are not failing to protect you. They are choosing not to. A villager stopped the attack this morning. Not the Prime Minister. Not MI5. Not the Home Office. A resident who looked out of a window at 00:45 and knew something was wrong. They were right. This government was asleep. Every fact in this post is verified and sourced. Screenshot it. Share it. They will not tell you. So we have to.

Just listened to Emma Reynolds, Ch Sec to Treasury, being quizzed over funding for the social care revamp by @JeremyVineOn5 - she effectively conceded it'll be paid for by scrapping triple lock in the future & a 'targeted' raid on people who've worked hard to improve their lot.

It's a laudable concept, but as always no idea of where the money is coming from is ever given. Taxpayers surely deserve some degree of funding transparency even at this conceptual stage.

Let’s be clear - this is a stealth tax the Govt is happy to collect for the same reason they’re doing nothing to ease the burden on families and businesses caused by fuel price rises. Every day they’re making money. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqzj…

Burnham's bid to allow drinking in the stands is bonkers. It's like he's got a venn diagram of people he wants to get onside (pardon the pun) and is coming up with PR gimmicks to get them onboard. Frankly I don't want to drive home after matches soaked in stale beer.

Hard to single out a player in a performance that epitomised the togetherness of this squad… but KLP was simply outstanding. Chuffed for Igor and Fab too.

You know we’re only a season away from seeing cracking goals like this banned. A perfectly executed bicycle kick is one of the best sights in the beautiful game. By 2029 headers like Schuster’s perfectly timed one will be outlawed too.
YOU ARE THE REF Why have you disallowed this goal exactly?
