Working on SwiftPM PRs for React Native community libraries! Maintainers, please check your repos and ping me if you have questions. React Native 0.89 will use SwiftPM by default, so we need your help getting manifests ready!

React Native can fly into a Van Gogh. 🌌
The Pastel Studio launch paints The Starry Night stroke by stroke, steps inside its layers, then hangs it on your wall.
Expo @expo
Skia + WebGPU @wcandillon
Reanimated @swmansion
Huge thanks @wcandillon for the latest Skia 🙏

We use our CRM nearly entirely "headlessly" now @expo
1. I interact through @HubSpot entirely through @claudeai (deal reviews, notes/activities added, forecasting, and all of our dashboarding)
2. We try to get most notes into fields through @meetgranola and Fathom
3. AEs still love Hubspot's deal board
4. We do attach MSA/OFs into Hubspot and that triggers an agent to provision accounts in @stripe and send invoices
I am confident we can scale this to as many reps as we want.

If you don't have the spare compute laying around, the EAS Simulator host now supports Android emulators! This brings the full device suite to:
- Local on the computer the agent runs
- SSH hosts to any machine you want to run simulators on
- Cloud simulators and emulators through EAS
- Simlock for self-hosting your own gateway of your own compute
See exactly what your agent sees, no matter where it runs!
You can now use Simlock in T3 Code. Simlock is a gateway that lets you connect multiple machines to a unified API that your agents can request leases from when they need to test mobile stuff.
Works for both Android and iOS and is a great alternative to EAS Simulators if you happen to have some spare compute laying around!
Let us know if anything's hard to do when adapting your app for iPhone Duo in SDK 58!
- Expo Router and UI get you 90% there
- You may need extra SafeAreaViews for custom content
- Do test the split left layout!
🌴 One more reminder that we're hosting a meetup in Miami tomorrow.
There will be a sneak peek demo of our Cloud Sims service. And delicious food/drink.
We're pushing this one hard because it's our first meetup in Miami and if it goes well then we can make it a regular thing.

playing around with Grok @bot has been a lot of fun recently 🤩 feels like it's been improving by leaps and bounds
I've let it make a bot template for @expo apps with all our skills and integrations (simulators, ad-hoc dev builds, launch, tunnels, etc ❤️)

iPhone Duo coming soon to @expo EAS Simulators! And as well to expo-device-hub and serve-sim for local streaming.

The @expo and React Native community is stronger than ever.
• 3M+ developers
• 500K+ projects (on Expo)
• 7M+ weekly downloads (RN)
• 100K+ builds every day
• 70K+ people in Discord
One of the main reasons I joined Expo and what makes this community special is how much people build and solve together. Hard problems get solved once, shared, and improved so everyone else can spend more time building beautiful apps.
We’re going to keep investing deeply in Expo and React Native, and we want to help every developer across the world build beautiful apps.
Solve the hard problems together. Build better apps.

I hate how imprecise the term “native” has become.
Is a UIKit app that mostly displays WebViews, such as Apple News, not a native app? What about an app that’s entirely rendered with UIKit or SwiftUI, but orchestrated by a bytecode file, as with React Native? How about a social network app that’s so server-driven it makes network round-trips before navigation?
Do you trust that an app built with UIKit is doing concurrency better than the reasonable defaults of SwiftUI?
Today, software is developed in natural language. When you use imprecise prompts, you get sloppy results. I ban my agents from using the term “native” to describe technical details.
Your agent will inherit your principles, so why allow any room for ambiguity?
Reject technical imprecision. Be curious about performance characteristics, and strive for data-backed answers.

Lots of great @expo meetups coming up - I’ll be at the one in London. Come say hi.
•Meetup - Vancouver - 9.3.26
•Meetup - NYC - 9.3.26
•Meetup - London - 9.9.26
•Meetup - Seattle - 9.16.26
•Meetup- Toronto - 9.21.26
•Meetup - NYC - 9.24.26
•React Alicante - Alicante, Spain - 9.24.26
If you're building an iOS app, save these 5 agent skills:
> expo/skills - best practices
> Appllama/appllama-skills - app creation
> emilkowalski/skills - animations
> vercel-labs/agent-skills - performance
> twostraws/SwiftUI-Agent-Skill - SwiftUI
What skill did I miss? ↓
this all applies verbatim for @expo, just substitute "cloud computing" for "mobile development"
our current hiring focus is on infra and services. you don't need ios/android exp. dm me! i'd love to chat about the exciting problems we're working on.
(@convex is also cool)
.@convex's business has scaled up massively in the last 18 months or so.
A major chunk of the Series B money we just raised is for finding incredible technologists to help us reinvent how cloud computing works in the agent era—which, IMO, is a very lofty goal. A lot of problems are waiting for the right person to arrive and own them.
