"Off feet" training can improve running performance for team sports?
Off feet training like sprint cycling, offers team sport athletes a way to boost performance without the impact of running.
A survey by @JHighton suggests 90% of practitioners use "off-feet" training.
But does the training confer performance benefits to on field performance? There are several studies with mixed findings.
Take home: In some cases, there is evidence of improved intermittent running performance and sprint performance following "off feet" training BUT NOT ALWAYS.
However much more work is required on the type of training, resistances used and the number of sprints, lengths, frequencies etc.
