Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is facing backlash after it was revealed that the city has been using taxpayer funds to teach immigrants, including those without legal status, how to politically organize for progressive causes. bostonherald.com/2026/09/28/…
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (whom I respect) is on CNBC right now attempting to discuss artificial intelligence, & it's going how you might imagine
These are the people trying to regulate this technology & they have the understanding of it like a grandparent scrolling on Facebook.
Good things he's given a platform
🚨 Da’Shaun L. Harrison at Socialism 2026 argues that the political deployment of GLP-1 drugs is “fascistic” because they exist in “a world fixated on genociding fat people.”
“The political deployment of GLP-1s is fascistic, not because individuals take them, but because the conditions under which they become necessary are shaped by a world fixated on genociding fat people.”
And to explain why that is supposedly fascistic, Harrison turns to Frantz Fanon and “Black flesh under colonial surveillance.”
If GLP-1s are already “body fascism,” the dual and triple agonists are going to require an entirely new theoretical vocabulary.
A main Left vs Right issue being Lindsey Clancy (the mom that no longer wanted to mom) 2 months before Midterms is actually hilarious.
Hey Democrats the take that will help you more is that she should be beheaded; not that she should be shown more empathy.
Please act sensible

On CNN NewsNight, The Atlantic’s Jemele Hill argues that capitalism is oppressive and bound up in white supremacy.
Kmele Foster: “It's one thing to not think capitalism isn't working ideally. It's another thing entirely to insist that it is oppressive, that it is bound up with white supremacy.
Hill: “How is it not?”
Foster: “I've always preferred Adam Smith's description of capitalism as the natural system of liberty. The idea that people can own property, that they can exchange it freely with one another for profit, that they can find ways to put their resources to good use and profit in a way that is actually beneficial to everyone else, that there can be gains from trade that are mutually beneficial. These are foundational ideas that have created more wealth than any other system in human history. That is what capitalism is! That is not white supremacy.”
Hill: “Do you think capitalism has always worked that way?”
Foster: “I've actually just described the basic facts of the economics.”
Hill: “That ain't how it's always worked.”
Foster: “Slavery is an institution that is older than writing. It predates capitalism. The notion that white supremacy and all these other things are bound up with capitalism in an intrinsic and fundamental way is so absurd and laughable, it barely needs to be defended.”
Hill: “How was it absurd?”
Foster: “It barely needs to be defended.”
Hill: “What do you mean it barely needs to be defended?”
Foster: “You actually have to articulate what the connections is. How are these two things the same? I'm talking about private property, the right to exchange and sell with whomever you like. What does that have to do with white supremacy? … What is the white supremacy dynamic of private property?“

Trump's home, Palm Beach County, has 12 operating data centers and 3 data centers in various stages of construction.
The national median is 0. The national average is just over 1. Adjacent counties average 2.
Why don't people grasp that rich places have more data centers?

Wow, @KAErdmann Thought is going mainstream!
I think “have a correct analysis of the situation and just keep saying it until you convince people” is an underrated theory of change.

The data center backlash is a product of two mutually reinforcing dynamics:
1) Locally, it's material concerns (noise, water, electricity) and process failure (NDAs, tax subsidies)
2) Nationally, it's broad anti-corporate and anti-AI sentiment (AI companies are screwing you over to get rich off dumb toys)
Social media + political campaigns amplify hyperlocal grievances into a broad populist movement, and there's no compelling "pro data center faction" to make the opposite case

Two reports from @SamLyman33 and @bitcoinpolicy document a coordinated foreign influence campaign against American AI — running through CCP state media, a Shanghai-based Marxist's nonprofit network, and foreign billionaire dark money that has funneled $2B+ into US advocacy infrastructure.
AI doomerism isn't as organic as it looks.
Reminder: the datacenter discourse is a documented psyop and they’re winning
