Uh... There has been a safe and effective vaccine for this since the 1930s. I had it multiple times when I was in service in the 1980s. It has low side effects and high efficacy. (The opposite of the Covid shots.)
IT'S ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT! Well, vaccines aren't antibiotics but... okay. There've been a dozen breakthroughs in counters to resistant bacteria. (And it's a bacteria. Something we routinely conquer, not a novel coronavirus.)
All of which means it's going to be containable and if not treatable.
As the guy who writes plague books... Relax. Don't let the MSM stampede you again.

Over the past few days I have heard a number of very sober, well-reasoned commentators on the political right talking about the midterms and related polling.
They uniformly speak about the House already being a lost cause for the GOP, and they focus on whether the GOP can hold the Senate.
Things do not need to be this way. Trump won in 2024 by large margins. The only reason that cannot be repeated this fall is if YOU—the average Trump voter—decides to let it happen.
I know, I know, I know. Trump has not made all of your hopes and dreams come true in two years’ time. You think he has done nothing, even though he has had profound victory after profound victory in areas like immigration and downsizing the federal government. You have your pet issue that has not been satisfied to the extent you demand, so you want to “Stay home and send them a message.”
Yes the GOP sucks. It’s a heinous mess of self-interest and failed status quo maintenance.
But the only thing worse is the Democrat Party.
We are running against LITERAL COMMUNISTS who want to abolish the Senate, pack the Supreme Court, add two new deep blue states, open the borders to unlimited immigration and succumb to creeping Sharia and jihad in order to literally destroy the nation. (Plus, they will spend the next two years impeaching Trump and everyone in his orbit, fully defeating what you voted for in 2024.)
So you have two choices. It’s a binary choice, there is no third option:
1. Vote for doing everything we can to pursue MAGA even if that’s not perfect.
2. Stay home and become ruled by literal Communists who want you dead.
Choose.
We can still win this fall, we just need the will to do it.

On this day in 1865, Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant.
Lee showed up dressed in his best, looking like a dignified gentleman. Grant was covered in mud after riding all morning.
Before anything was signed, the two men spoke about their shared service in the Mexican War -- a reminder that Confederates and Union soldiers were nonetheless countrymen tied by mystic chords of memory.
Grant did not create terms of surrender to humiliate the South. Grant and Lincoln understood that to unify the nation, you could not imprison half of it. Confederates were allowed to keep their sidearms and personal horses.
When Grant learned that Lee's men were quite literally starving after having not eaten for days, he ordered 25,000 rations sent to them immediately. Lee said this would have "a very happy effect" on his men.
When Lee rode away after signing terms of surrender, Union soldiers cheered. Grant forced them to stop, reminding Union soldiers that Confederates were "now our countrymen" and there would be no cheering over their downfall. (In fact, days later when actual ceremonial surrender occurred, Union Gen. Josh Chamberlain reportedly ordered his men to salute passing Confederates as a sign of respect)
Lee also worked diligently to stop Confederates from waging guerrilla warfare, encouraging them to set their arms aside and return home and in peace. He was a titan in his own right.
If the spirit of 1865 had been driven by the urge to shame and punish, the Union would not have lasted. So many people today misunderstand that and as such, they try to rewrite America history.

By that logic, you’d be cool with the USA launching missiles at Toronto after 9/11?
Or bombing Australia after Pearl Harbor?
You can tell a lot about a person, or a country, by how they act after they get punched in the face.
The sane ones direct their own punch at where it came from.
The unhinged ones try to take as many humans with them into the abyss before they die. Flailing wildly.
Iran just had the ultimate mask off moment. We know what their Islamic run country does at its worst. It tries to kill everything and everyone around them.
Now imagine that scenario if they had nuclear weapons. A radioactive death blossom in every direction.
Stop simping for terrorists.

When Columbia University's anti-Israel student group posts "Death to America" on social media it is time to disband the group, kick the students out of school cutting off any federal help they are getting, deport any of the group who are not American citizens and make clear that we will not tolerate people in our country who believe in “death to America.” We do not have to be passively suicidal. We can and must protect our great country.
